    MarcoA - 2019-02-24

As always, the main download (compilation) was updated. You may also download the Color Mod sourcecode here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/biogenesis/files/Color%20Mod/1.8/

    Changes:

    Some relatively noticeable performance improvements:
-Only organisms, that have teal segments will call touchReaction() now.
-Organisms that have eye segments but no movement segments will also not do this.
-Time between reproduction (was 20 frames for all organisms) attempts is "10 + number of segments" now. This might help smaller organisms in crowded situations a bit, but mostly improves performance in crowded lategame situations.

    Balance changes:
-OLIVE completely dominant vs SKY and LILAC now, but both (not just one) touching OLIVE segments for plants will always change into DARKOLIVE now, and DARKOLIVE is vulnerable vs not enhanced PLAGUE now
-if the organism has INDIGO segments:
--DARKGREEN cannot get infected by WHITE plants
--TEAL, CYAN, YELLOW, AUBURN, BLOND, FLOWER, DARKGRAY, GOLD, MAGENTA and ROSE
cannot get infected by WHITE plants, if the organism is not a consumer
--OLIVE, DARKOLIVE and VIOLET cannot get infected by enhanced WHITE plants,
if the organism is not a consumer
--CREAM plants cannot get infected by enhanced WHITE plants and only enhanced WHITE non-plants
--CREAM non plants cannot get infected by all WHITE segments
-MINT no longer blocks vs enhanced WHITE for OLIVE, VIOLET, CREAM and SPIKEPOINT
-Enhanced WHITE only infects SPIKEPOINT, if it is not a killer
-FIRE always with "normal" absorption efficiency vs BEIGE
-JADE (if the organism is not a killer) turns into DARKJADE, then DARKGREEN vs GRAY
-If Plague attacks JADE or other green segments of an organism that has JADE segments, and that organism has MINT segments too, WHITE, PLAGUE and CORAL will get destroyed, as if PLAGUE forced successfully (to make MINT a bit more useful vs PLAGUE)
-BLOND only uses costs, if an organism reproduced early successfully

I also managed to message Joan Queralt, and he updated the homepage http://biogenesis.sourceforge.net :)

It links to the Biogenesis 0.9 compilation and to the newest manual now, and the version check also works. The news section was updated, and the spanish version of the page is functioning again.

But online manuals were not updated.

Yes, I forgot to change these txt files. Only changed all files, that were directly accessible in Eclipse...

Just wait a few days now, because I changed "time to reproduce" from "10 + number of segments" to "10 * number of genes". This might be better in preventing late game slowdowns. Doubt it will change the balance of the game really, but I have to test at least a little bit.

Before Richards performance update, the game was more likely too slow down at the beginning. Since then rather the opposite is true. And creating (and especially trying to create repeatedly) a new organism slows the simulation down.

The performance of my test game seems to be improved for now :)

It might be, that I have access to the page btw (and I just failed to do so xD), but Joan wasn´t completely sure of it either yesterday. But I am not sure if I even want to try something there. I never looked into developing web pages. Do not want to break something...

An interesting organism in my simulation:

    Just a harmless herbivore?

Well, they just decimated both viral plants and omnivores/carnivores in my world.

Destroying virus segments (front) and eating both them and bark-plants. And its sides are protected by powerful lilac energy drain segments. This kills everyone that tries to feed on them (at the moment at least).

Think I will use "10 + (5 * number of genes)" for the time, that needs to elapse between two reproduction attempts. This seems to work very well.

Might upload later today, or tomorrow.

    Also showing off another organism:
This one is part of a pack of omnivores with eyes, that transfer energy to each other.
