I compiled version 1.3.17 from source with no apparent errors.
The program is running fine until the moment a snipe or a bid is
executed. Bidwatcher is bidding (teh auction price is raised by
me) and when the auction refreshes the program crashes. The
console reports the following messages:

I've seen the same issue - runs fine until a bid/snipe and
the app crashes.

It happens here when the current bid on an item goes above
my snipe price before I have a chance to snipe.
I'm using 1.3.17 built on Gentoo x86 in USA

I had about the same problem; the error message in the log
reads "Pre-bid on 5183441754 for 17.71 FAILED: bid below
asking price"
This means that bidwatcher is currently unusable.
