<https://panyasan.wordpress.com/2015/07/21/more-plugins-a-docker-image-bibliograph-v2-1-is-out/> I am very happy to announce the release of Bibliograph 2.1, the first public release of the software. Bibliograph has been used in production since version 2.0, but was never polished enough for broader consumption. Now I think it is, particularly since this release comes with very comfortable installation options. The major features of the release are: - Four new plugins <https://github.com/cboulanger/bibliograph/blob/master/plugins.md> - A Docker image <https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/cboulanger/bibliograph/> Release notes are here <https://github.com/cboulanger/bibliograph/blob/master/release-notes.md>. For more information, download and installation instructions, visit http://www.bibliograph.org Please ask any question you might have here or on the Project’s User Forum <http:/forum.bibliograph.org>. Bug reports and feature requests are best entered on the project’s GitHub page <https://github.com/cboulanger/bibliograph>. |

Hello, it has been a long time since you last heard from the Bibliograph project (4 years, to be exact). The application has been used in production successfully at the Humboldt University in Berlin, but I have never found the time to prepare a public release. Given that browsers have changed dramatically over the last few years, the software has held up pretty well, but it was time to give the code base an overhaul. You have probably moved on to new things, but maybe the application is still of interest to you. I have just released a first Release candidate of version 2.1 Demo installation: http://demo.bibliograph.org Documentation: http://www.bibliograph.org Download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/bibliograph/files/latest/download Readme: https://github.com/cboulanger/bibliograph/blob/master/readme.md Release notes: https://github.com/cboulanger/bibliograph/blob/master/release-notes.md I’d be thrilled if you were still interested in the project and like to help finalizing the v2.1 release by trying out the release candidate and giving feedback. Best, Christian |

Hello everybody, it has been a while that you heard from the Bibliograph project. Version 1.0 is long ago and ran only with PHP4, which is a no-go for most server environments. It took me a long time to update the program, but after I got some funding from my university, I could do some more work on it, and now, Bibliograph is back and 2.0 is almost done! As you hopefully (positively) remember, Bibliograph is a tool for the collaborative management of bibliographic data, mainly for use in universities. You can enter, edit, import and export bibliographic references, view them in different formats, and manage them by sorting them in thematic folders, etc. What sets it apart from desktop programs of the same sort is the collaborative, multi-user approach, and from other web-based applications, its truly "ajaxy" feel thanks to the qooxdoo framework. Here's a demo installation of a current snapshot, if you want to play around: http://quit.rewi.hu-berlin.de/bibliograph-dev/build/ You can log in by using the credentials "qooxdoo"/"qooxdoo" if you change from http to https. The server certificate is self-signed, so it doesn't work in Google Chrome, unfortunately. I am currently working on the documentation, which is, however, currently available only in German: http://sites.google.com/a/qxtransformer.org/bibliograph/ But since it is on google sites, each page can be easily translated. The docs are far from finished, however. I would like to move into the Beta-Phase soon, but zillions of bugs still need to get fixed and the app is still rough around the edges. My aim was to make it as intuitively as possible (that's why it looks a bit Apple-like). I would love to get feedback on the user experience (the server is decently fast) and how you like the UI or what you would change. Thanks for any comment you might have! The application is still in pre-Beta since it has not been prepared for use outside the current environment. If anyone is interested in the pioneering effort downloading and installing it (you'll have to use SVN for now), I'd be happy to help out. But be warned: it probably won't be an easy ride and lots of changes are forthcoming. Of course, there is also paid support, if you need it. Cheers, Christian |

Hello, I wanted to inform you that you can find a new release of Bibliograph (0.98.1) at http://www.bibliograph.org/download It features a complete redesign of the folder tree, finally the support of Microsoft Internet Explorer, and an alternative user interface for older browsers. You can try it live at http://www.bibliograph.org/demo/ or on your own server. As usual, I am grateful for bug reports and suggestions, which now can be reported from the application itself (menu help / report bug). Bibliograph is in use at the "The Online Bibliography on Organized Crime <http://orgcrim.panya.de>" which has been generously funding part of the development. If you are interested in having your own installation on an especially configured vserver, please look at my offer at http://www.bibliograph.org/hosting/. <http://www.bibliograph.org/hosting/> With this release, regular development will pause for a while. The project urgently needs co-developers because I don't have enough time to do all the necessary coding. If you know of anybody who does PHP / JavaScript software development and might be interested in collaborating in this project, please let me know. I will continue to fix bugs and implement some of the ideas I have, but need to turn my mind to other things. Best regards, Christian Boulanger P.S. Hello, I have uploaded a new version to the demo installation with two major enhancements: - a new tree widget with moveable nodes and a trash can - initial microsoft internet explorer support There is no released version yet, since there are a zillion of bugs left to correct that I have already found, and many more that are left to be discovered. If you are looking for a stable production release of the program, this is not for you... ;-) You can download a snapshot as usual at http://www.panya.de/cgi-bin/bibliograph_snapshot and try out the installation at http://panya.de/zophe2 I would be interested in feedback on the changes and of course about buggy behaviour. There is plenty in the internet explorer - send screenshots if possible. Marco Danscheid has been adding German documentation accessible through the question mark button. If anyone would be willing to help contributing English language documentation, that would be great - I would sponsor a free bibliograph installation on my server... Thanks for your interest in Bibliograph... Christian Boulanger Christian Boulanger (Bibliograph Development) wrote: > Hello, > > Happy new year!

Hello, of course, the PR1 release had a couple of major bugs, the most important being that the plugin system was broken. This is fixed in PR2 which you can find on the website http://www.bibliograph.org/download/ Best, Christian Christian Boulanger (Bibliograph Development) wrote: > > Bibliograph 0.9.8 PR1 released > > The first of hopefully not too many preview releases of the 0.9.8 > version of bibliograph is out. > > Please download and test the code > <http://www.bibliograph.org/download/bibliograph_0-9-8-PR1.zip> or > visit the "development demo > <http://www.bibliograph.org/demo/index_html>", and let me know what > isn't working, so that we'll soon have a stable 0.9.8 version. > > This version has the following *new features*: > > * added configuration system with own GUI and data backend, > allowing customization of > o citation styles: now individually configurable, with import > / export of styles > o bibtex citation key > o table columns > o fields of reference types > o site properties (title, keywords, start message) > * partial redesign of table and bibliography output > * context menu is now on the right mouse button (can be customized) > * lots of changes under the hood > > The 0.9.8.x versions will add features, so if there is something you > are missing, please let me know now. Bibliograph 0.9.8 PR1 released The first of hopefully not too many preview releases of the 0.9.8 version of bibliograph is out. Please download and test the code <http://www.bibliograph.org/download/bibliograph_0-9-8-PR1.zip> or visit the "development demo <http://www.bibliograph.org/demo/index_html>", and let me know what isn't working, so that we'll soon have a stable 0.9.8 version. This version has the following *new features*: * added configuration system with own GUI and data backend, allowing customization of o citation styles: now individually configurable, with import / export of styles o bibtex citation key o table columns o fields of reference types o site properties (title, keywords, start message) * partial redesign of table and bibliography output * context menu is now on the right mouse button (can be customized) * lots of changes under the hood The 0.9.8.x versions will add features, so if there is something you are missing, please let me know now. Starting with 0.9.9, I will concentrate exclusively on bug fixes, browser compatibility and installation issues. Please use this email list to write about enhancements and changes that you'd like to see implemented. I have very limited time for this project, so it would be good for me to make a list of priorities that I will try to work in before I reach 0.9.9, and ideally you as users should decide what is most important. Also, let me hear about user friendlyness of the interface - if the buttons are on the right spot, if the menus make sense, etc... Best, Christian |

Hello, I wanted to inform you about a new release of Bibliograph. You can get it at http://bibliograph.panya.de/download/ 0.9.7.10 (19.10.2004) - work on the reference module: added custom fields, modularized tabs; not completely finished. - support for auto-loading of classes and properties - reworked access control to make it application-specific. Still wierd. - added native PHP BibTeX export GUI - updated folder2bibtex to assign suffixes a-z, aa-zz for citkeys which would otherwise be identical. needs a better solution, though. - collection now has "author" instead of "editor" - folder tree displays number of references and subfolders contained in a folder - folders containing elements can now be deleted. ToDo: contained subfolders also need to be deleted and references unlinked! - fixed bug preventing address and subtitle from being saved I tried to fix most of the bugs reported on the website. This is the complete package which contains changes all over, not a patch. Please backup your old "zophe" directory in case the new package doesn't work for you, delete it, and unzip this file. The major problem at the moment seems to be getting it running in "normal" hosting environment - please report your experiences. This code has only been tested on: Win2000 / Apache 2.0 / PHP 4.3.8 / MySql 3.x & RedHat Linux 9.0 / Apache 2.0 / PHP 4.3.5 / MySql 3.x. As allways, please report bugs & suggestions on http://www.bibliograph.org . Thank you for your interest in Bibliograph, Christian Boulanger |
