BFRT: Broken File Recovery Tool / News: Recent posts

Project closed

As you can see, there were no new versions for last few years. Recently I've been considering resuming the development, but in the end decided not to do it. Internet connection speed and quality improves and I suppose now it's easier for most people just to re-download the corrupted file rather than learn how to use BFRT. Moreover most large files are now distributed via torrents which have built-in integrity checking. So I suppose such software as BFRT isn't that needed now and will be even less needed in the future. BFRT project is officially closed now.

BFRT 0.2.3 is released

BFRT recovers files corrupted during download. To save time and traffic BFRT re-downloads file's parts until it's fixed. You can choose download order from predefined or manually select parts to download. If you have hash of the file, it's even easier.

v0.2.3 introduces a new feature - manual mode. With it you can manually select parts of the file you want BFRT to re-download.
A compatible version of BFRT GUI - 0.02 is also released.

BFRT GUI 0.01 and BFRT 0.2.2 are released

Good news for Windows users who don't like console applications. Here's a tool that will make usage of BFRT much easier for you - BFRT GUI. However it's just a launcher - you pass options to BFRT with it, after that you still have to interact with BFRT directly (there is really nothing difficult in it as soon as it was launched).

So here's BFRT GUI 0.01. The first version of BFRT which is compatible with it is BFRT 0.2.2.

BFRT 0.1.5 : Closer to the real world

Ok, I've finally found some time to finish this release. There are some small, but important changes which make BFRT much more helpful and reliable. Also a serious bug was fixed.
See release notes and changelog for details:

v0.1.4 - MD5 support added!

BFRT 0.1.4 supports MD5 checksums. It makes it really useful now, because MD5 is provided for big files much more often than CRC32. What's next? SHA256 I guess.
So now the best thing BFRT can offer is 'Smart Download' mode with MD5. It saves lots of time and traffic in most cases.
Unfortunately the project's popularity is very low yet and so no bugreports or other information is being submitted. If you have any problems or questions about BFRT, please report. Any feedback is appreciated.
