This release adds some options to query generation - repeating queries a number of times with varying 'bind' values, and the ability to choose a query type to generate. In addition a bug with generating datasets for size < 1 is fixed. Thanks to the folk at mysql.com for feedback and patches!

New in this release is support for Sybase. Documentation has been revamped and includes getting-started information for folks benchmarking an unfamiliar server for the first time.
In addition some autoconf changes mean that lack of random() on platforms is reliably worked around.

At last - decided to bite the bullet and port to win32. This was made painless by means of the excellent Mingw toolkit. With the move to the windows platform, it was then sensible to add support for Microsoft SQL Server. (Expecting downloads to skyrocket at this point....). Enjoy.

This release features the addition of the Firebird database engine. The generation of data has been improved to use random text, plus the ability to generate fixed or delimited format files. This seems a good time to move out of beta.

New in this release is an autoconf style build system, feedback from all programs about what they are doing, and some documentation about porting issues for the various database engines.

Benchw provides a toolset to benchmark the capabilities of several different database engines for data warehouse type activities. It is designed to provide a simple way to test data loading, index creation plus query performance in the spirit of TPC-H. This release adds default index generation and sapdb load capability - so now Oracle, Mysql, Postgresql, DB2 and Sapdb are supported. The documentation has been brought closer to completion. The generated form of the queries has been finalized (it has changed from the alpha releases). A BSD style license file has been included.

An improved alpha release. The key updates are the inclusion of an INSTALL file and a fix for a bug in rel.c that meant the timelike dimension has the wromg number of attributes!

The state of play is that schema creation, dump file writing and loading are present. The query generation is to be added.
As this is a alpha release, a few things might not work.
