BeepBeep now monitors Java programs

The BeepBeep runtime monitor is now part of a framework that can monitor sequences of method calls inside Java programs. Method calls are trapped and processed using the AspectJ library. The framework's modular architecture has at its core an event formatter that converts information about method calls into a flexible, XML-like "message" that can then be sent to BeepBeep. BeepBeep at CAV 2009

The BeepBeep runtime monitor for AJAX web applications will be featured in a tool presentation at the 21st International Conference on Computer Aided Verification (CAV 2009) in Grenoble, France next July.

CAV is a prestigious series of conferences which gathers top-notch researchers in the field of verification. Sponsors for CAV 2009 include Microsoft Research, IBM and Intel.

BeepBeep 0.9 released

BeepBeep is a lightweight runtime monitor for AJAX web applications. It transparently checks in real time whether XML messages received and sent by the application satisfy a predefined interface specification. This specification can impose constraints on the ordering of messages, on the data values inside one or multiple messages, or a combination of both. Using BeepBeep prevents an AJAX application from sending erroneous messages all the way to the server, saving bandwidth, server processing time and a few bugs along the way.... read more
