(Updated 2020-8; BallroomDJ version 3.29.24)
Song Server is used for larger installations
The song server is used for ballrooms with multiple rooms. One computer is designated as a server. The other computers are set up as BallroomDJ clients.
The BallroomDJ server acts just like a normal BallroomDJ installation, but also starts a song server for the BallroomDJ clients to connect to. The audio files for BallroomDJ are on the server.
The BallroomDJ clients will copy the main database and playlists from the BallroomDJ server when BallroomDJ is started. When the music player is started on the client computers, the audio files to be played will be copied from the BallroomDJ server for playback.
