Hello everybody
It's a honor for me to announce that I will continue the work on this project. Thanks John for your trust. I hope to keep and enhance the quality of this great open source project. Otherwise you let me know ;)
Bug reports and feature requests are always welcome. So don't be shy.
My unregular work on this project will start in a few days and I hope the next release will be public in january 2008 (can't wait until bad-luck-07 is over).... read more
I am sorry to say that I will no longer be supporting the b9ddns module. We will not be using the module ourselves at the University and as such there is little point in my trying to maintain it. I do not even have a test system anymore to use it with.
Many thanks to those people who have used the module and those who have resported bugs, provided ideas and the like.
If anyone else wishes to take over the module then they are welcome to do so. It probably needs a little modifying to cater for the upcoming BIND 9.3 though.... read more
I have released this version a little bit early because I am going to be tied up with other work for a while. It seemed better to release it and let people use it rather than keep it back until later (whenever that may be!).
This version includes a new filter (or search) function which I intended for use with our large zones. You need to enable the filter in the module config section, or if your zones are over 5000 records in size I think it automatically kicks in. It seems to improve the speed a bit simply because the whole zone does not need to be displayed.... read more
This version fixes several bugs. These mainly relate to:
1) dynamic slave updates could fail;
2) The code to execute an 'rndc' command has been overhauled a bit. 'rndc' reconfig's and reloads should occur at the right times now!
3) Creating a delegated zone from a dynamic master did not work - it does now.
I have also created a 'NOTES' file located within the module files, which should be read. There's not too much in it but it may avoid some questions about known problems.
This version contains 2 new view options and some bug fixes.
The view options 'match-destinations' and 'match-recursive-only' have been added.
Bug fixes have been made to the SOA/RP record code which prevented the zone from being loaded; incorrect calculation of the 'leap days' when a date-based SOA serial number was used; and changes to the way views are displayed. In particular, zones categorized by view didn't work.... read more
A minor bug fix version. If the top-level name, sub-domain name code restrictions were in use then these bugs would prevent legitimate DNS records from being changed. By default these features are not enabled, so most users should not have noticed these bugs.
Well it had to happen at some time...this is the first public release of this module!
