I was actually wondering this, but didn't want to create my own topic for the question. Is there a way to add 'AutoSave search results' functionality into the AutoType Search? I haven't tinkered with KeePass plugins enough to see if that's something I could do, but ideally after choosing an option for AutoType it would be cool to have 'something' saved that can be searched by the regular AutoType sequence later. I.e. either adding the Window title into the Window Title field of the selected entry, or even a workaround similar to what KeePass2Android does which is store a new "KP2A_String_URL" with meta data/data from Android's autofill service. Using strings would be one option, but it could get messy - but manually adding the window into the AutoType screen is time consuming when it seems like AutoType Search knows what the search Window is and could (theoretically) add that window into the AutoType field for us.
Possible? Useful?

And a few quick tests; it seems like Tags would be the easiest to use, but custom string fields might be a good route if the AutoType Search can be updated to check the value of a specific custom string (e.g. ATS_WindowValue and then add a list of window values there and direct the AutoType Search to check that?)
I suppose I'm not entirely sure where the core AutoType Search functionality ends and where your popup begins, but at the end of the day once you select an entry once - it would be cool if there was an option "Do you want to save this search criteria to the selected entry for the future?" and if Yes to that, then something about the search (like the Window Title displayed) is saved somewhere (like a new Tag). Then next time, the Global AutoType won't fail

Thanks for the suggestion. I think people generally use AutoType Search when it isn't possible to match by window title, so I'm not sure this would help. If AutoType Search automatically added "Login" as the window title for an entry that would certainly not be what I want! I think it's best to leave setting up AutoType matches to a manual process, these can be fiddly to get right, and AutoType Search can be used when it isn't possible or worth the effort to do so.

Yeah - based on what AutoType Search is currently capturing or seems to be capturing (i.e. Window title). It would be a new project essentially to do what I was hoping could be done. I just started using WebAutoType and I'm going to take a crack at the Disambiguator partially because I'm curious and using more KeePass plugins recently, and partially because some day I'd like to make my own maybe. It seems like depending on what information is available within the target window; adding a tag wouldn't be impossible...but like you said, if your target window is just "Welcome Back! | Login" then it doesn't actually help. I still think it would be good functionality for someone to eventually create since using AutoType Search more than once for the same site 'feels' like we're leaving stuff on the table; but I also don't have a great sense for how much information we can glean from the target window. If it is just the window title, then this is probably the best it can be!

EDIT: I'm dumb. Each entry has "Auto-Type" tab.
