kernel panic and crashing while analyzing MP3 files

It crashes consistently at the end of the analyzing
process. I've tried it with multiple MP3 files and it
was consistent. this seems to have started with 10.4.4.

I have the same issue, but here is more data. I have a "clean" boot partition
which contains only software software from the install disk and Software Update.
No third party installations. Audioslicer works fine when booting from this
partition. However, when booting from my normal partition, with print drivers,
codecs, etc. installed, Audioslicer crashes as described above. The crash report
supplied to apple includes a reference to DivX codec -- don't know if that is
relevant.

Yes. This happens for me, too.
Luckily I have another computer running 10.3
