AssignmentTracker X 2.0 Beta 3.1 has been released today and fixes 2 critical regression bugs discovered in 2.0 Beta 3 shortly after release
Today I released AssignmentTracker X 2.0 Beta 3 which features mainly bug fixes and internal improvements mainly because I wanted to get a release out with fixes rather than delay it further to put some frosting on it. The main improvements are
* Searching for assignments within courses is now fixed
* The SplitView is now resizable
* You can now view the GPL in AssignmentTracker X
* Fixed printing margins for the GPL in the license window
* AssignmentTracker X can now warn you before deleting assignments
* Various internal improvements
2.0 Beta 2 includes several bug fixes for issues in 2.0 Beta 1 as well as several minor enhancements. See the release notes in the download for more information.
AssignmentTracker X 2.0 Beta 1 has finally been released. It's an entirely new version written from the ground up around Core Data.
AssignmentTracker X Features
* 1st time Startup Wizard
* To Do lists for each assignment
* Notes for each assignment
* Each Course has it's own grading scale

The AssignmentTracker X Subversion Repository has been cleaned up and over the next couple weeks the 1.1 and 2.0 source code will be imported into this new repository. 1.1 Source code will be located in it's own branch and 2.0 will be imported into the trunk. WebSVN has already been adjusted to this change and is working well at the same location ( http://www.atxproject.net/websvn/ .) Thanks!

The AssignmentTracker X 2.0 Roadmap was posted today. This document outlines the major changes in the development methodology that the project will undergo including evaluation periods for bug hunting and planning periods. It also outlines an initial list of features that have been tagged for inclusion into the 2.0 final realease.
You can find the roadmap @ http://www.atxproject.net/atx2_roadmap.html
Im proud to finally unveil the totally redesigned version of www.atxproject.net which serves as the project homepage for the AssignmentTracker X Project.
This new site is totally redesigned with a very nice visual look and feel and is much easier to maintain, update and automatically grab new information via RSS feeds parsed in from Sourceforge.net and the ATX Project blog which always keeps you up to date on everything going on in the project!
AssignmentTracker X 1.1 is a almost complete rewrite of AssignmentTracker X maintaining compatibility with 1.0/1.0.2 Preferences and file formats. Additionally it is vastly more stable and better designed, in fact even though most of it's being rewritten (and UI's redesigned where needed) work is proceeding fast on the latest builds.
As always i'll keep people updated on the AssignmentTracker X Projects Blog @ http://colindw.blogspot.com/... read more
A 1.0.1 maintenance release should be out soon that fixes most known 1.0 bugs and a severe bug in the Report Generator that causes ATX to crash when printing the Class Grade under certain conditions.
This release should be out Sunday or Monday.
After at least a year and half in development AssignmentTracker X 1.0 is complete! The final bugs marked for this release have been fixed, tons of little enhancements have been made and now it's ready for download! Thanks to everybody who helped make this possible!

AssignmentTracker X 1.0 Release Candidate 2 has been resheduled to July 18 due to a ton of events in my personal life all going on at the same time.
More on this is @ my blog : http://colindw.blogspot.com/
1.0 Release Candidate 1 Update 1 is a Bug Fix release that fixes several critical bugs discovered in 1.0 Release Candidate 1 including bugs related to 1st time setup & use and the Report Generator XHTML Reports Pending new reports to the end of the old reports. This build does not contain new code & features being worked on for 1.0 Release Candidate 2 so that this release will be as stable as possible.
Last night I was talking to John and disovered a flaw in that if ATX started up after you've already set everything up and couldn't find your files it would not warn you. Apparently 1 line of missing code caused this problem, it's something I never intentionally removed and have no memory of ever erasing.
Luckly this only affects saving Class Information since ATX auto saves Assignment information right after you create new assignments or update old ones. I haven't had time since discovering this late yesterday to test what bugs this causes but be aware of this when using 1.0 RC1. I may publish a 1.0 RC1 Patch 1 Release to fix some bugs including this found in 1.0 RC1. The Patch to fix this can be found in the Patch section or at this link:

AssignmentTracker X 1.0 Release Candidate 1 was released on schedule today. It includes several bug fixes from 0.4 and new features such as XHTML reports, a New Internal Update system and a Viewable Debug Log. These features are currently in their infancy but are working well enough for release.
Soon the Bugs Section will be updated for all known bugs in the current release.
AssignmentTracker X 0.4 has been released! 0.4 Final is a totally rebuilt (virtually from scrap) version of ATX taking complete advantage of Cocoa Bindings. 0.4 Final is compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 Panther and Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.
Now that 0.4 Final is out and now that I have a bunch of free time it's time to work hard and push for 1.0 by August 15. Feel free to use the forums at the AssignmentTracker X Sourceforge site or at atxproject.net and let me know what you want.... read more
0.4 Beta 3 is being delayed just one day to May 10th due to some bugs I really want to eliminate before the release. This is still within the 1 day (+/-) tolerance for each release on the release schedule. 0.4 Final should be released on schedule.
More details can be found on the Inside AssignmentTracker X Blog ( http://colindw.blogspot.com ) Though im disapointed I couldn't eliminate these couple bugs before release, overall the redesign of the class tracker and vast improvements i've made are clearly worth it.
A schedule, which I will try my best to adhere to, has been posted on release dates for everything from now to AssignmentTracker X v1.0. This includes the following releases:
0.4 Beta 3
0.4 Final
1.0 Release Candidate 1
1.0 Release Candidate 2
1.0 Release Candidate 3
1.0 Final
You can find this schedule here: http://www.atxproject.net/atx1schedule.png
For now I won't say what will be included in v1.0 until I get 0.4 FINAL out of the way, though if you have any requests for features i'll gladly listen as you can post on the boards here or e-mail feedback@atxproject.net Thanks!... read more

Hey everybody,
Despite being super busy with work, and with activities with AmesMUG ( sadly Iowa State University forced us to change our name to this from ISU MUG) I have still been working on ATX here and there whenever I can. Luckly my busy streak is just about over and tomorrow I can get back to seriously working on ATX.
There have been a lot of nice little goodies i've added to ATX in the upcoming 0.4 RC2 Beta 3 release. However I still have a lot of things to tackle before another beta release and a lot of planned features I wanna create right now. ... read more
AssignmentTracker X 0.4 RC2 Beta 2 is out!
0.4 RC2 Beta 2 Fixes most known bugs discovered in Beta 1 and pre-beta 1 releases to provide the most stable and reliable release of AssignmentTracker X to date.
My Class refresh problems have been eliminated, the Class Tracker errors have been corrected, the Report Generator data refresh has been significantly improved and much more has been improved on. ... read more
A long while ago I put out the first Beta release of 0.4 Release Candidate 2 (RC2) and it was good for a first release of a 99% rebuild of the source code from scrap and built with Cocoa Bindings. Since then many bugs (minor to somewhat severe) have been discovered and fixed as well as many minor new features have been created.
As it stands right now im somewhat losely releasing some releases along ISU's ( Iowa State University ) schedule as there are many students around here I talk to who provide great feedback on AssignmentTracker X. As of right now I plan to publish a release on January 10th when students get back to classes. ... read more
Hey all,
I've been gone for a little while because i've been very busy and haven't been feeling well lately, especially this past week. I've also assumed control over a couple other mini projects which will take a little time to work on for just a couple weeks only (including a special Cocoa Developer presentation i've been asked to give for my MUG group.)
Anyway now that im really getting back to work it's time to figure what need priority in fixing and adding for new features. I believe overal some big bugs were fixed that I haven't changed the status on in the bugs section. The bugs that will get attention are startup bugs and issues and the thing that will probably get the biggest attention to in terms of new features is definitely the class tracker. I also plan on adding a drawer to the assignment brower for a optional outlook view that gives a brief overview of everything going on just like the startup views for programs like Entourage or Ximian Evolution, etc. ... read more
AssignmentTracker X 0.4 Release Candidate 2 Beta is now out! RC2 is a nearly complete rebuild of AssignmentTracker X that has been updated with a smarter design ( UI & source code ) to take Advantage of Cocoa Bindings in the Mac OS X 10.3.0 SDK.
AssignmentTracker X is now expanding it's scope to include Class Weights ( assignments = 50% of grade,etc. ) and Class events. The goal of release candidate 2 is give students tools to manage their assignments, events & grades (weighted or not.) Currently Beta 1 is a very early beta quality and has some basic functions, as future builds come the quality will increase and more events/weights functions will come as well. Thanks!... read more
