I can run figforth on the simulator fine. Except typing WORDS look like this.
WWOORRDDSS
Typing backspace backspaces 5 characters.
This does not occur in the exorsim monitor, so I figure its an issue with the forth and its adaption to call EXBUG for EMIT and KEY.
I have not diagnosed this properly yet, but though you might like to know,
To tell you the truth, I haven't properly worked out how the EXORsim
terminal emulator deals with switching between simplex and duplex
emulation, or between terminal auto-echo/non-echo mode.
Checking what should be the current version of the code, in the 6800
source for exorsim (fig-forth_exorsim.68c), at the label PKEY, I have
commented out the line that I think is supposed to shut off echo in
the monitor ROM.
You can take a look at the 6801 source (fig-forth6801_exorsim.68c) and
you'll see that I have enabled those lines in PKEY. Enabling those
lines in the 6800 source should take care of it for you.
I really ought to take the time to pick Joe Allen's brain and learn
how to get the disk emulation for Flex and/or MDOS working and
integrated with the Forth, so that this could be a real fig-Forth
workstation. Too many irons in the fire, as we used to say.
