The Wiki is Up

We have moved all of our existing documentation over to the Wiki, and disabled the old ugly documentation area of the website. There's still a lot to do with the Wiki and it will be an on-going effort to fill it with useful, well-organized information, but this is a good step forward.

We're Chatting!!

This is a big milestone for early project development and I'm proud of our quick success. We established our first successful chat just minutes ago using our own network code. Our packet system is working and everything. This also led to our first screenshot here: http://sourceforge.net/project/screenshots.php?group_id=192968

Planning for Worlds '07

I am planning a trip to the MECCG World Championship 2007 in New York in July. I hope to use the opportunity to promote Ardanet and recruit more volunteers and support for the project. And of course it will be fun to play with the real printed cards again.

In other news, Josh and I will be testing new networking code tonight and we'll hopefully have a functioning chat client and peer to peer TCP client connection working by tomorrow. This is a big step forward and a mile stone for the project.

More enhancements are desperately needed, such as dockability, remembering where windows go, and autosave/autoreload, but progress is plodding onward.

SourceForge site is up!

First news item ever!

The ArdaNet source forge site is up and running. I've put together a mailing list for SVN commit notifications, a SVN repository, and some initial forum configuration. We're just getting started here, but a rough initial GUI framework, networking code, and some underlying game-related data structures are up in SVN already.

The top priority tasks right now are
1) to establish a network connection with functional chat, as well as
2) to establish a working GUI framework for the multi-view multi-document environment.... read more
