Seems similar to this issue from last October -> The "Pinger" function was showing some hosts "offline" when they were really "online".
WoL seems to consistently "see" my Win7 machines but not some Ubuntu 14.04 machines or XP, but another 14.04 machine is detected fine. Makes no difference if hosts are wired or wireless, fails in both cases.
The Pinger now also constantly shows the machine it is running on as online and offline, and instead of showing the IP address it now shows the MAC address which I don't recall it doing before.

Further info/clarification to hopefully help debug.
This is not a new install. I started with version 2.10.12 on this computer (and possibly used earlier versions) and have successfully upgraded from that version up through subsequent versions until the recent problems. I haven't recently changed any of the host configurations.
To test I repeated that exercise starting at version 2.10.16 today after uninstalling TWO versions of WoL. Everything went fine until the upgrade from 2.11.0 to 2.11.1 at which point the issue I reported reoccurred and this is the point where 2.11.0 was not fully uninstalled as 2.11.1 was installed. The two versions show in Win7 control panel programs list. If I do an uninstall and clean reinstall direct to version 2.11.2 then I only get one version installed but I still have the issue where all hosts do not show.
Currently I have 2.11.0 installed on both Win7 machines that had issues and everything seems to work as in the past, all expected online hosts show as such with pinger. Based on the release notes my guess is that the new installer may be causing two versions to be installed if upgrading instead of a clean install and the new polling scheme may be causing the "missing hosts" issue but what do I know?

Correct. The new installer did not remove the previous InstallShield installation. This is expected. Not desirable, but I just don't have time to fix that issue, and it will only occur once and we will get past it.

Yes, it probably is. That's why I wanted to see your machines.xml file, but we can try to debug without it.
The main thing that changed is that there are fewer threads pinging the hosts now than before. The default is 10 threads.
How many hosts are you pinging in your WOL configuration? If it is more than 10, try going into Options, and changing the "number of threads" from 10 to 100. I expect that will fix your issue. Unfortunately, it also would mean the threading manager is not working correctly. Want to try it and report back?
I have 25 host here and everything is working perfectly with "threads" set at the default of 10.

This sounds like a configuration error, could you email a copy of your machines.xml file to webmaster@aquilatech.com ? I would like to check it out.
