I have WoL installed on my computer. I'm trying to schedule a task to Wake up my wife's computer. Anytime I try to Create a Task in the Task Schedule, I seem to have issues. I name the task, and use (My PC Name/User Name) for the Login user id, I set a trigger to activate 3 days a week, at 4 am, and set the Action to be "Start Wife's Computer". Nothing complicated.

When I click OK to create the task, I get the following error: "Register Task Definition" "Value does not fall within the expected range" What value? What is the expected range?

Running version 2.11.4, both computers are Win 7.

That message, unfortunately, is coming from the Windows Task Scheduler. So I cannot answer for exactly what it is complaining about.
But, I just setup a task on a workgroup computer like you described and it worked.

Let's start by deleting the triggers for the task just to see if that's where the error is.

Creating a task with no trigger allows the task to be created. I ran it, and it started my wife's computer. Now I just need to be able to schedule it.

Not worth it if I have to come down to my computer to start my wife's 2 feet away.

That's great. Now we know that the problem is in the trigger. now we can closely examine the parameters in the trigger to find which is causing a problem. Maybe a screenshot of the failed trigger would help me to duplicate the problem. Once I can dupe it, I can fix it permanently.

The original Trigger had been "Weekly on Monday, Friday and Sunday, at 4am". This was causing the problem. I created 3 triggers that are "Weekly on Monday at 4am." "Weekly on Friday at 4am" "Weekly on Sunday at 4 am" And doing it this way seemed to fix everything, as the backup ran this morning at 4 with no problems.

Thanks for the help. Hope you can use this information to fix a bug.

That's exactly what I needed. I will investigate it, thanks.

So far I have not been able to duplicate the problem. Is there anything unusual about your installation that might help me? Are you in the US? Is your computer default language English? Do you use a standard US timezone?
