File Browser 0.3 Revision3 is now considered stable and is now fully released on Subversion and should be released on the main File Area in a few hours.
Meanwhile, and unless there are any bugs, work will be mainly focused on version 0.4 which among other features, the current developement build already supplies Zip Compression, File Licensing and some minor security features over version 0.3.
Other features that should probably be included on future dev releases should include advanced password crypto, user profiles and some new languages supported (French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and Indonesian are in the works).... read more
After Doing Some Testing on the codebase, It was decided to remove this release from the "stable" release line for further testing (some security related issues are being tested).
It the meanwhile please check the Subversion Repo for any changes as a rev3 release will be made exclusively there (as well as the Bleeding Edge trunk release).
* Update: Rev3 has been released to Subversion.
Besides the security bugfix, a new file hashing feature was added on the download script.
If all goes as planned, and after some more testing, this release should finally be released to the stable branch.
After Making Some Modifications to the file structure, the demo site is now fully operational (all file manipulation capabilities are on).
We Ask you not to try to abuse the upload capabilities otherwise we will be forced to enable the demo mode again.
On The Development Side We're Getting Close to an Initial Release of a Beta Version, which will have constant development updates through Subversion as soon as they're properly tested on the demo site and on the internal development machines.
After Some Changes to the development version and further testing, we have decided to release a preview demo version.
Since Sourceforge runs the page server on a readonly filesystem, most functions that require file manipulation such as add, edit, delete and compression have been disabled, but it is still possible to get a look at how it works.
It can be checked out here: http://www.amponline.ath.cx/fbdemo/
The First Screenshots for the Internal Beta Release have been Released.
Hopefully this Beta will be released within the next couple of days, right after the extensive test phase ends and as soon as we have fully established everything on sf.net.
