ASK for Windows version 0.3.1a released

Active Spam Killer for Windows is the only known free, open-source implementation of a challenge/response spam filter available for the Windows platform. Release 0.3.1 alpha enhances AfW inbox processing and includes many small enhancements.

The functionality of the inbox handling section has been enhanced significantly with the parsing of mime-encoded messages, and the addition of the ability to download attachments. Also, there is now a visual indication of a message's priority and whether it has been read or not.... read more

ASK for Windows version 0.3a released

Active Spam Killer for Windows is the only known free, open-source implementation of a challenge/response spam filter available for the Windows platform. Release 0.3 alpha adds inbox processing and a Windows installer version, along with many small enhancements.

The functionality of the inbox handling section will expand with time, but currently you can see a list of all messages in your inbox, preview each one as desired, delete them individually or as a group, reply to messages or forward them. As well, you can create and send new messages in the same interface.

AfW web site launched

The first version of an ASK for Windows web site is now in place. Please visit http://www.syrinx.net/afw for more complete information about ASK for Windows. Any feedback on this site would be appreciated.

ASK for Windows version 0.2.1a released

This release is to address some small but important documentation errors and omissions. As released previously, users may not have been able to set up ASK for Windows successfully following the instructions in the Quick Start Guide.

ASK for Windows version 0.2a released

Active Spam Killer for Windows is the only known free, open-source implementation of a challenge/response spam filter available for the Windows platform. Release 0.2 alpha adds a paged queue listing and more detailed logging capabilities, along with many small enhancements.

Despite its early version number, AfW is a very complete application; it's actually closer to a full-featured beta, and may actually get there quite rapidly. It builds on the excellent work done by Marco Paganini on Active Spam Killer for Linux (http://www.paganini.net/ask/), incorporating the latest publicly available release of ASK for Linux, and adding a complete web interface. ASK for Windows needs to be tested by many people, so download it and try it out.... read more
