since the reader-hal simulator framework is limited due to high abstraction
of the reader-hal interface, simulating very specific RFID air interface
parameters might not be possible. I can see having the methods kill,
programID, read and write being included in the simulator framework.

Thanks for your very helpful reply. I am interesting in adding these
features into the simulator framework and would appreciate more detailed
information. 
 
In the scenario I want to model, the simulated tag should be able to perform
operations (not just the CRC-16 and PRNG supported by Gen 2 tags but perhaps
some additional ones also). What is possibility of including this behavior
into the simulator framework?
I understand that adding some of these features and commands would mean the
release would no longer be compliant with the EPCglobal standards but I
still would appreciate your feedback.
