Open Source Lua Window Managers

awesome is a highly configurable, next-generation framework window manager for X. It is very fast, extensible and licensed under the GNU GPLv2 license. It is primarily targeted at power users, developers and any people dealing with everyday computing tasks and who want to have fine-grained control on their graphical environment. A window manager is probably one of the most used software applications in your day-to-day tasks, along with your web browser, mail reader and text editor. Power users and programmers have a big range of choices between several tools for these day-to-day tasks. Some are heavily extensible and configurable. awesome tries to complete these tools with what we miss, an extensible, highly configurable window manager. To achieve this goal, awesome has been designed as a framework window manager. It's extremely fast, small, dynamic and heavily extensible using the Lua programming language.

Notion is a tiling, tabbed window manager for the X window system: * Tiling: you divide the screen into non-overlapping 'tiles'. Every window occupies one tile, and is maximized to it * Tabbing: a tile may contain multiple windows - they will be 'tabbed' * Static: most tiled window managers are 'dynamic', meaning they automatically resize and move around tiles as windows appear and disappear. Notion, by contrast, does not automatically change the tiling. You're in control. Features include: * Workspaces: each workspace has its own tiling * Multihead: the mod_xinerama plugin provides very nice dual-monitor support * RandR: mod_xrandr expands on mod_xinerama and picks up changes in the randr configuration without the need for restarting Notion * Extensibility: Notion can be extended with lua scripts.

Modern, hardware accelerated, scriptable UI system for games and mobile devices

SDL Framework (SDLFW) SDLFW is a cross-platform framework from the powerful SDL library to create your own 2D games with the Lua programming language. It's easy-to-use, free, open-source, and works on Windows and Linux.

This application generates a lua script containing a menu of all applications installed on your system, thus manual adding of each installed application in your rc.lua script is no longer required. Now, rc.lua simply includes a new generated script.

My customized linux live spin using 'Awesome' the Window Manager (WM) If you are not familiar with the AwesomeWM you might have troubles using this LiveOS, unless you are experienced with Linux in general. If you are looking for a Windows (Microsoft TM) or iOS (Apple TM) alternative, this Linux spin is NOT for you! As the linux base system i'm using Fedora, which i found to work best for the hardware i have. This project is in no way related with Fedora. This engine is not an attemp to re-inventing the wheel. It is a more learning-oriented project than something intended to provide a wide set of features. The approach to the OpenGL in this engine is something very experimental born from my own thoughts and can be usefull in future. this is a theme i put together by editing the default theme and matching the colors to cathexis gtk theme. also i changed the tag icons so they dont get in the way. - fixed the default file - this project includes the theme and also a sample rc.lua that you may edit as you wish.
