    GoBoy

    GoBoy

Multi-platform Nintendo Game Boy Color emulator written in Go

GoBoy is a multi-platform Nintendo GameBoy and GameBoy Color emulator written in go. The emulator can run the majority of GB games and some CGB games. There is also colour and sound support. This emulator was primarily built as a development exercise and is still work in progress. Please feel free to contribute if you’re interested in GameBoy emulator development. The program includes debugging functions making it useful for understanding the emulator operation for building one yourself. These functions include printing of opcodes and register values to the console at each step (although will greatly slow down the emulation) and toggling of individual sound channels. GoBoy is compatible with MacOS, Windows and Linux. Building on Windows 10 requires MinGW and on Linux, you’ll need to install gtk.

Kraken is a P2P-powered Docker registry that focuses on scalability and availability. It is designed for Docker image management, replication, and distribution in a hybrid cloud environment. With pluggable backend support, Kraken can easily integrate into existing Docker registry setups as the distribution layer. Kraken has been in production at Uber since early 2018. In our busiest cluster, Kraken distributes more than 1 million blobs per day, including 100k 1G+ blobs. At its peak production load, Kraken distributes 20K 100MB-1G blobs in under 30 sec. Kraken is capable of distributing Docker images at > 50% of max download the speed limit on every host. Cluster size and image size do not have a significant impact on download speed. Support uploader authentication and data integrity protection through TLS. Other than pluggable storage, Kraken only has an optional dependency on DNS.

    LC-3 VM

    LC-3 VM

Write your own virtual machine for the LC-3 computer!

The documentation and source are generated from the .lit file using srcweave. If you don't want to go through the trouble of setting it up, your contributions are welcome. Just make your edits the .lit file, and we can regenerate it for you. Our VM will simulate a fictional computer called the LC-3. The LC-3 is popular for teaching university students how to program in assembly language. It has a simplified instruction set compared to x86, but contains all the main ideas used in modern CPUs. First, we need to simulate the essential hardware components of the machine. Try to understand what each component is, but don’t worry right now if you are unsure of how it fits into the larger picture. Start by creating a C file. A register is a slot for storing a single value on the CPU. Registers are like the “workbench” of the CPU. For the CPU to work with a piece of data, it has to be in one of the registers.

    Locust

    Locust

Scalable open source load testing tool

Locust is an open source user load testing tool written in Python. The idea behind Locust is to swarm your web site or other systems with attacks from simulated users during a test, with each user behavior defined by you using Python code. This swarming process is then monitored from a web UI in real-time, and will help identify any bottlenecks in your code before real users can come in. As it is completely event-based, Locust can have thousands or even millions of simultaneous users distributed over multiple machines swarming your system. Unlike other event-based apps, it doesn’t use callbacks but uses lightweight processes instead, so you can write very expressive scenarios in Python without complicating it with callbacks.

A Windows Format Tool for USB and Physical volumes

A simple Windows tool that can format USB or physical volumes to either NTFS or FAT32. It supports custom Volume names and quick formatting. Done out of boredom and curiosity for practicing purposes. The program will refuse to format the Windows partition. Because the Windows partition is not always C, the check is not hard-coded. Rather, I perform a comparison between the currently selected volume to format and the known System volume. If they match, I trip a flag.

    Mirrorcast

    Mirrorcast

Open Source Alternative to Chromecast, Mirror Desktop and Play media r

The idea is to replicate what Chromecast can do in regards to screen mirroring and streaming media to a remote display. Google chromes screen mirroring feature works well when used with a receiver such as Chromecast but this is a proprietary solution and audio does not work for desktop mirroring on some operating systems. At the moment, there is only a client for Debian/Ubuntu Operating systems and a server/receiver application for Raspberry pi. Mirrorcast aims to be a low latency screen mirroring solution with high-quality video and audio at 25-30fps, the later is why we will not use something like VNC. Mirrorcast uses up about the same amount of system resources as google chromes cast feature. The delay is less than 1 second on most networks. To achieve this we will use existing FOSS software such as ffmpeg, mpv, and omxplayer.

    Moss

    Moss

    Rust Linux-compatible kernel

Moss Kernel is an open-source operating system kernel project designed to explore modern OS design and provide a foundation for experimental system research and development. Rather than replicating traditional monolithic kernels exactly, it emphasizes modularity, safety, and simplicity by incorporating well-structured subsystems for memory management, scheduling, and device abstraction that are easy for contributors to understand and extend. The kernel uses Rust as its primary implementation language, which gives it strong memory safety guarantees and helps reduce common classes of bugs like data races and buffer overflows without sacrificing performance. It aims to serve as both a learning tool for systems programming students and a testbed for advanced research in kernel architecture, enabling experimentation with new ideas in process isolation, resource management, and driver models.
