Watchman
A file watching service that records when files change
Watchman purpose is to watch files and record when there are changes. It can trigger actions (rebuilding assets, for example) when there is a change in matching files. The watchman executable has both the client and the server components of the watchman service. When running watchman, it will attempt to communicate with your existing server instance (each user has their own persistent process), and will attempt to start it if it doesn’t exist. There are some options that affect how watchman will locate the server, some options that affect only the client and some others that affect only the server. Since all of the options are understood by the same executable we’ve broken those out into sections of their own to make it clearer when they apply. Watchman is conservative, preferring to err on the side of caution; it considers files to be freshly changed when you start to watch them or when it is unsure. -

witr exists to answer "Why is this running?"
witr (short for “Why is this running?”) is a cross-platform command-line utility designed to explain the origin and cause of running processes, services, or anything bound to a port. Traditional tools show what is running, but witr goes a step further by correlating that state across process supervisors, containers, or system services to build a narrative of why the item exists. It supports major operating systems including Linux, macOS, Windows, and FreeBSD, and produces human-readable output that succinctly shows the causal ancestry of a process (e.g., systemd → pm2 → node). witr aims to reduce the time it takes to diagnose processes, especially during debugging or outage investigations, by providing context that would otherwise require manual analysis across multiple tools. -

flannel is a network fabric for containers, designed for Kubernetes
Flannel runs a small, single binary agent called flanneld on each host, and is responsible for allocating a subnet lease to each host out of a larger, preconfigured address space. Flannel uses either the Kubernetes API or etcd directly to store the network configuration, the allocated subnets, and any auxiliary data (such as the host's public IP). Packets are forwarded using one of several backend mechanisms including VXLAN and various cloud integrations. Platforms like Kubernetes assume that each container (pod) has a unique, routable IP inside the cluster. The advantage of this model is that it removes the port mapping complexities that come from sharing a single host IP. Flannel is responsible for providing a layer 3 IPv4 network between multiple nodes in a cluster. Flannel does not control how containers are networked to the host, only how the traffic is transported between hosts. However, flannel does provide a CNI plugin for Kubernetes and a guidance on integrating with Docker. -

Generate documentation from endpoint descriptions. Leverage the metadata to report rich metrics and tracing information. Re-use common endpoint definitions, as well as individual inputs/outputs. Library, not a framework, integrates with your stack. Is your company already using tapir? We're continually expanding the "adopters" section in the documentation; the more the merrier! It would be great to feature your company's logo, but in order to do that, we'll need to write permission to avoid any legal misunderstandings. -
