A programmable audio generator intended as an aural aid to meditation, implementing the binaural beat principle as described in Gerald Oster's Oct. 1973 Scientific American article "Auditory Beats in the Brain."

Psycle is a Music tracker (like FastTracker 2 or Impulse Tracker) combined with plugin modularity. It supports its own plugin API, the VST2 plugin standard, and a tracker style sampler playback.

SPTK is a suite of speech signal processing tools for UNIX environments, e.g., LPC analysis, PARCOR analysis, LSP analysis, PARCOR synthesis filter, LSP synthesis filter, vector quantization techniques, and other extended versions of them.

This kangaroo-themed program allows the user to create their own music and sound effects, effectively from scratch. There are two variants of the program: Kangas Sound Editor which requires MySQL for its database, and Kangas Sound Editor QI which does not (it uses an internal database - HSQLDB - instead). Kangas Sound Editor (QI) uses a system of boxes or cells, which are placed by the user onto a timeline using drag-and-drop, and which represent entities such as chords, repetition, and individual sounds or notes. The program's database allows the user to create and store harmonics, used for constructing melodic instruments, and anti-harmonics, which are used for constructing percussion instruments. Users can collaborate with and build on the work of others via an XML import/export facility.

The Analysis & Resynthesis Sound Spectrograph analyses a sound file into a spectrogram and is able to synthesise this spectrogram, or any other user-created image, back into a sound.

ApplPi is a stochastic noise machine that creates a soothing background noise for those who can't work in complete silence or need to mask distracting noise. It creates sound similar to any noise machine, but it's more musical and harmonic. Additionally, you can control the frequency (note) of the sound and choose from built-in presets of noise/sound.

When generating audio, why use sine waves and standard effects? Directly tell the sound-card how much electricity should be in the speaker/microphone wires many times per second as numbers from -1 to 1. Automatically finds good sound-card options and balances between linear interpolation speeds of consuming microphone buffer (and then any Java transform function per sample) and producing into speakers buffer and to keep delay between them small. Its really simple you only have to write 1 function that takes an array parameter. First 2 indexs are output to speakers. Next index is 1 microphone. Technically you can ask it for any number of speakers and microphones, but version 0.4 only supports 2 speakers and 1 microphone simultaneously.

SINE Isochronic Entrainer is a Free and Open Source Brainwave Entrainment application for PC, Android, and HTML5. Brainwave Entrainment is the practice of using sounds, visual stimuli or even electromagnetic fields to alter the frequency of brainwaves. It can be done for several reasons: people with insomnia can take great benefit from it, but it can also be used to improve your attention span, and even simulate the effects of some recreational drugs. The effect is not permanent, and fades away in less than a minute after the stimuli is removed. Isochronic tones are a commonly used aural stimuli for Brainwave Entrainment, consisting of short pulses of a sine wave, varying in frequency. Unlike binaural beats, isochronic tones can be played on speakers. The Player supports touchscreens and high resolution displays. Includes a graphical editor for making presets, with a manual.
