Open Source Java Sound/Audio Software for Windows

Ever wanted to cut out background noise when talking with others on Skype? Now it's possible! NoiseGator is a light-weight noise gate application that routes audio through an audio input to an audio output. In real-time the audio level is analysed and if the average level is higher than the threshold the audio bypasses as normal. However, if the average level goes below the threshold, the gate closes and the audio is cut. When used with a virtual audio cable it can act as a noise gate for a either a sound input(microphone) or sound output(speakers). Can also be used to gate noise from your own mic or play your microphone through your speakers. REQUIREMENTS: - Java 7 or higher for Windows. - Java 6 or higher for Mac. Java 7 recommended. - A virtual audio cable is required for use with VOIPs: For Windows users I recommend the VB-Cable driver (http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Cable/index.htm). Mac users can use SoundFlower.

This project was started as a Masters project back in 2006. I completed the project as part of my dissertation, and produced software to render Maya script (MEL) to animate a piano model I'd also created. From this I produced a number of videos, which I uploaded periodically to YouTube. Following numerous request I attempted to create a standalone application to playback MIDI performances without the need for a 3rd party 3d modelling/rendering application such as Maya. Given my original background in Java, and it's existing support for MIDI files, I proceeded to attempt to create this using Java 3D. However, (and this sounds like an excuse, which it probably is), life got in the way and I never completed the project to a commercial standard for reproduction. As such, I'm offering the source here in good will to other developers/musicians who might be able to take what I've achieved and carry it forward to a useful learning tool.

AMPT is a tool for transforming MIDI messages originating from any external MIDI keyboard or other software in a performance or experimental setting. MIDI is routed and transformed in AMPT by linking devices on a virtual canvas. AMPT Filters will offer delay, echo, transpose, and arpeggio. AMPT also works as a MIDI router or loopback.

The sowftware allows people to organize ther mp3 names in a format stablished on their own rules, it uses regular expressions to rename the files and allows the user to change the name of the files in his own customized way
