    CAVA

    CAVA

    Cross-platform Audio Visualizer

Turn your phone or tablet into a fantastic audio viewer. Easy to use and customize. Choose from several preset settings of incredible colors or create your own. CAVA is a bar spectrum audio viewer based on my own open source project with the same name. Take the audio from the device's microphone and visualize the amplitude of the different frequencies as bars on the screen. Each bar represents a certain bandwidth of low to high frequencies. The leftmost bar starts at 50 Hz and the rightmost bar ends at 10 kHz. Although the frequencies outside this spectrum are audible, they do not contribute much to the overall sound image. You can also adjust the number of bars.

    Moonshine Voice

    Moonshine Voice

Fast and accurate automatic speech recognition (ASR) for edge devices

moonshine is an open-source automatic speech recognition toolkit optimized for fast and accurate transcription on edge devices and local environments. The project is designed to enable real-time voice applications such as live transcription, voice commands, and embedded speech interfaces without requiring heavy cloud infrastructure. Its architecture emphasizes low latency and flexible input handling, allowing audio streams of varying durations rather than relying on fixed processing windows. Moonshine supports multiple platforms including mobile, desktop, and embedded systems, and provides example projects to accelerate integration into real-world products. The toolkit also includes specialized model variants, including monolingual options that improve accuracy for specific languages. Overall, moonshine serves developers building privacy-conscious, on-device voice interfaces that demand high performance with minimal resource overhead.

    Competent Audio

    Competent Audio

Machine graph audio engine for computer games

Competent Audio (CA) is an audio engine suitable for video games. It is written in C, but is designed for interoperability with other languages. Windows and Linux binaries for x86 and amd64 are available. CA uses a machine graph model with support for arbitrary numbers of machines, limited only by the available system resources: - Samplers play back audio clips. - Mixers combine audio signals and optionally perform signal processing. - Sinks send audio signals to an output device. Stereo and mono sound output is supported via a slightly customized version of libsoundio 2.0. Audio clips can have arbitrary channel counts, and can be queued for streaming or dynamic music. CA contains a very simple embedded VM for running custom signal processors, allowing you to add custom DSP code (currently assembly language only) without compiling native code. Errors are reported using well-documented negative return codes, and CA attempts to handle expected errors gracefully.
