    CocoaPods

    CocoaPods

    The Cocoa Dependency Manager

CocoaPods is a dependency manager for Swift and Objective-C Cocoa projects. It has over 82 thousand libraries and is used in over 3 million apps. CocoaPods can help you scale your projects elegantly. CocoaPods is built with Ruby and is installable with the default Ruby available on macOS. We recommend you use the default ruby. Using the default Ruby install can require you to use sudo when installing gems. Further installation instructions are in the guides. CocoaPods manages library dependencies for your Xcode projects. The dependencies for your projects are specified in a single text file called a Podfile. CocoaPods will resolve dependencies between libraries, fetch the resulting source code, then link it together in an Xcode workspace to build your project. Ultimately the goal is to improve discoverability of, and engagement in, third party open-source libraries by creating a more centralised ecosystem.

    React Native Navigation

    React Native Navigation

A complete native navigation solution for React Native

React Native Navigation is a module, dependent on and intended to be used alongside React Native, so some experience with it and knowledge of core concepts is required. We also assume you are working on a Mac with XCode and Android Studio installed and setup. You can also make it work in a Linux distribution, of course, but in that case bear in mind that some sections of the docs that deal with iOS might not be relevant to you. When your app is launched for the first time, the bundle is parsed and executed. At this point you need to display your UI. To do so, listen to the appLaunched event and call Navigation.setRoot when that event is received. When your app is launched, RN makes sure JS context (which is what enables you to execute JavaScript code) is running. There are quite a few differences between iOS and Android in this regard.

    KeepingYouAwake

    KeepingYouAwake

Prevents your Mac from going to sleep

KeepingYouAwake is a small menu bar utility for macOS (Version 10.12 and newer) that can prevent your Mac from entering sleep mode for a predefined duration or as long as it is activated. The app is a small wrapper around Apple's caffeinate command line utility. All current versions of macOS ship with this tool by default. On a MacBook this only works as long as the lid is open. This utility will not harm your Mac because it is based on an official command line tool by Apple. Version 1.5.2 is the latest release that supports macOS Yosemite and El Capitan. KeepingYouAwake uses Sparkle's ui-separation-and-xpc branch to deliver updates. You can build and sign Sparkle with make Vendor. To build a release version of the app just run make dist.

AppDevKit is an iOS development library

AppDevKit is an iOS development library that provides developers with useful features to fulfill their everyday iOS app development needs. AppDevKit is an iOS development library that provides developers with useful features to fulfill their everyday iOS app development needs. Yahoo’s Taiwan based iOS app development team has been using this development kit for the past three years, and we plan future apps to use AppDevKit as well. Our use of this code in many apps helped improve its stability and utility. We find these libraries help address some incompatibility issues found in different iOS versions, and overall make app development easier and our apps operate more consistently. AppDevKit has five major parts that include command, user interfaces, animations, image view, and list view support libraries. AppDevKit could be installed by CocoaPods. Please feel welcome to use AppDevKit in your iOS projects as it is licensed under the permissive open source BSD license.

    Chameleon

    Chameleon

Color framework for Swift and Objective-C

Chameleon is a lightweight, yet powerful, color framework for iOS (Objective-C & Swift). It is built on the idea that software applications should function effortlessly while simultaneously maintaining their beautiful interfaces. With Chameleon, you can easily stop tinkering with RGB values, wasting hours figuring out the right color combinations to use in your app, and worrying about whether your text will be readable on the various background colors of your app. With a plethora of color choices available for text, it's difficult to choose one that all users will appreciate and be able to read. Whether you're in doubt of your text and tint color choices, or afraid to let users customize their profile colors because it may disturb the legibility or usability of the app, you no longer have to worry. With Chameleon, you can ensure that all text stands out independent of the background color.

    Hyperion

    Hyperion

In-app design review tool to inspect measurements, attributes, etc.

In-app design review tool to inspect measurements, attributes, and animations. Hyperion is a hidden plugin drawer that can easily be integrated into any app. The drawer sits discreetly under the app so that it is there when you need it and out of the way when you don't. Hyperion plugins are designed to make an inspection of your app quick and simple. The View Inspector plugin allows you to inspect the properties of any view live within the app. Have a tiny view you want to inspect? No problem, you can zoom in on any portion of the app while the plugin is active. The Measurements plugin allows you to measure the distance between any two views on the screen. No more guessing whether padding is correct-this plugin has you covered. Have trouble verifying an animation matches the design? The Slow Animations plugin allows you to slow down all animations within the app to 75%, 50%, or 25% of the normal speed.

    Mantle

    Mantle

Model framework for Cocoa and Cocoa Touch

Mantle makes it easy to write a simple model layer for your Cocoa or Cocoa Touch application. Core Data solves certain problems very well. If you need to execute complex queries across your data, handle a huge object graph with lots of relationships, or support undo and redo, Core Data is an excellent fit. If you're just trying to access some JSON objects, Core Data can be a lot of work for little gain. Nonetheless, if you're using or want to use Core Data in your app already, Mantle can still be a convenient translation layer between the API and your managed model objects. In order to serialize your model objects from or into JSON, you need to implement <MTLJSONSerializing> in your MTLModel subclass. Mantle doesn't automatically persist your objects for you. However, MTLModel does conform to <NSCoding>, so model objects can be archived to disk using NSKeyedArchiver.

    Aspects

    Aspects

Library for aspect oriented programming in Objective-C and Swift

A delightful, simple library for aspect oriented programming. Think of Aspects as method swizzling on steroids. It allows you to add code to existing methods per class or per instance, whilst thinking of the insertion point e.g. before/instead/after. Aspects automatically deals with calling super and is easier to use than regular method swizzling. Aspects hooks deep into the class hierarchy and creates dynamic subclasses, much like KVO. There's known issues with this approach, and to this date (February 2019) I STRICTLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TO USE Aspects IN PRODUCTION CODE. We use it for partial test mocks in, PSPDFKit, an iOS PDF framework that ships with apps like Dropbox or Evernote, it's also very useful for quickly hacking something up. Aspects uses _objc_msgForward which causes issues with other code that uses message forwarding.

    EZAudio

    EZAudio

An iOS and macOS audio visualization framework

An iOS and macOS audio visualization framework built upon Core Audio useful for anyone doing real-time, low-latency audio processing and visualizations. I've designed six audio components and two interface components to allow you to immediately get your hands dirty recording, playing, and visualizing audio data. These components simply plug into each other and build on top of the high-performance, low-latency AudioUnits API and give you an easy to use API written in Objective-C instead of pure C. EZAudio was designed to work transparently across all iOS and OSX devices. This means one universal API whether you're building for Mac or iOS. For instance, under the hood an EZAudioPlot knows that it will subclass a UIView for iOS or an NSView for OSX and the EZMicrophone knows to build on top of the RemoteIO AudioUnit for iOS, but defaults to the system defaults for input and output for OSX.
