gImageReader is a simple Gtk/Qt front-end to tesseract. Features include: - Import PDF documents and images from disk, scanning devices, clipboard and screenshots - Process multiple images and documents in one go - Manual or automatic recognition area definition - Recognize to plain text or to hOCR documents - Recognized text displayed directly next to the image - Post-process the recognized text, including spellchecking - Generate PDF documents from hOCR documents **Note**: This page is only a mirror for the downloads. pcdtojpeg converts PCD (Kodak Photo CD) image files into high quality JPEG images. Conversions are at the maximum available PCD resolution, and are fully color managed - no blown highlights or color casts. A C++ PCD decoder library is also available.

The DSM manages the interactions between TWAIN applications and TWAIN Data Sources for the acquisition of images from scanners and cameras. This DSM is open source software and uses LGPL licenses.

SANEWinDS: SANE Windows Data Source. Enables SANE scanners installed on unix-like hosts, including thin clients, to be accessed from Windows workstations and terminal servers. Can be used standalone or as a TWAIN Data Source. Implemented in a DLL for easy integration within other .Net programs.

Scanning albums is not an easy task, since the extraction of actual photographs within scans is usually very tedious. This tool allows you to scan as much as you can fit into your scanner and then semi-automatedly extract the contained photographs. YASW (Yet Another Scan Wizard) is an application used to correct images taken with a camera. It can be used to post process the scanning of a book (see http://http://www.diybookscanner.org/ ) or to correct an individual image taken with our camera (A poster in the street). OpenExif is an object-oriented library for accessing Exif formated JPEG image files. The toolkit allows creating, reading, and modifying the metadata in the Exif file. It also provides means of getting and setting the main image and the thumbnail image.

Scanner Copier scans multiple pages in Windows and prints them as a single document. This can be used in conjunction with PDFCreator in order to make PDF files from scanned documents similar to other 'scan to PDF' software.

The Photo, Image and Video Organization Tool - Pivot - is a tool for the first step of the image (and video) processing tool chain. Pivot can organize your images from the hard drive or directly from the camera. It allows you to specify destination folders and filename patterns for the copying process. Note this project has moved to github: https://github.com/sglass68/paperman This is a document management program similar to PaperPort in aim. It allows scanning of paper into directories quickly and easily with a thumbnail/desktop view. Maxview decodes .max files and can convert them to PDF.
