    PROPER Optical Propagation Library

Routines for wavefront propagation in IDL, Matlab, and Python

PROPER is a library of routines for the propagation of wavefronts through an optical system using Fourier-based methods. It was developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for modeling stellar coronagraphs, but it can be applied to other optical systems were diffraction propagation is of concern. It is currently available for IDL (Interactive Data Language), Matlab and Python (3.x). It includes routines for generating complex apertures and obscurations and aberrations (Zernike & PSD-defined). It includes a model of a deformable mirror for wavefront control. The routines perform near and far field propagation with automatic selection of propagators. The latest version is v3.3.1 (IDL & Matlab) and v3.3.4 (Python). Please report any bugs using the Tickets tab.

    WavePacket (Matlab/Octave)

    WavePacket (Matlab/Octave)

Dynamics of quantum systems, controlled by external fields

WavePacket is a program package for numerical simulation of quantum-mechanical wavepacket dynamics of distinguishable particles. It can be used to solve single or coupled time-independent or time-dependent (linear) Schrödinger and Liouville-von Neumann-equations, partly also classical or quantum-classical Liouville equations. Optionally accounting for the interaction with external electric fields within the semiclassical dipole approximation, WavePacket can be used to simulate modern experiments involving ultrashort light pulses in photo-induced physics or chemistry, including quantum optimal control. Allowing for visualization of dynamics 'on the fly', WavePacket is easy to use . First established in 2004, the present Matlab version is in a stable, mature state. Further development mainly by Burkhard Schmidt at WIAS and FU Berlin. UmUTracker

    UmUTracker

A MATLAB program for 2D particle tracking or 3D DHM based tracking.

We present a versatile and fast MATLAB program (UmUTracker) that automatically detects and tracks particles by analyzing long video sequences acquired by either light microscopy or digital holography microscopy (DHM). Our program finds the 2D particle center position using an isosceles triangle transform and the axial position by a fast implementation of Rayleigh-Sommerfeld numerical reconstruction algorithm using a one dimensional radial intensity profile. *Updates v1.1: 2017/11/21- Bug fix & Blob detection functions. Ultrashort Pulse Propagator

    Ultrashort Pulse Propagator

A powerful simulation for designing femtosecond lasers and amplifiers.

This is a simulation package developed for numerical simulation of ultrashort pulse propagation in optical media and pulse generation from mode-locked lasers. Although the code is primarily intended for investigations of fiber links, fiber amplifiers and fiber lasers, it can be applied to any other setting for which the governing equiations are valid. The physics included in the code is based on a generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation, including higher order dispersion, stimulated Raman effect, gain with bandwidth limitation and saturation, loss, and saturable absorption. Disclaimer: The simulation code is provided free of charge for the use of the academic community only. We kindly ask the users to acknowledge use of the code in academic settings. We do not accept responsibility for any errors or omissions that may be present. Çağrı Şenel, Punya Prasanna Paltani, Fatih Ömer Ilday

    easy-dhpsf

    easy-dhpsf

GUI for fitting 3D single-molecule images using the double-helix PSF

This package of MATLAB routines with accompanying GUI allows scientific users to measure the 3D location of single molecules when using the double-helix point spread function (DH-PSF) widefield microscope. Version 2 also includes code that facilitates combining localization data from two spectral channels using a locally-weighted quadratic 3D registration function Features - Double-Gaussian estimator is calibrated via an axial scan of bright immobile fluorescent emitters (e.g. beads) - DH localization is performed through template matching and subsequent double Gaussian fitting - Tiff stacks of SM images are analyzed using template matching followed by double-Gaussian fitting to extract estimates of the molecule positions - Two spectral channels are registered by generating a locally-weighted quadratic mapping function from control point pairs

    Virtual Reflectometer

    Virtual Reflectometer

Simulates basic reflectometer scans with X ray tracing.

With Virtual Reflectometer (VR), you can simulate the basic alignment scans of a basic X ray reflectometer (diffractometer) with a Goebel mirror using ray tracing. With this program, you can characterize reflectometers and get a reflectometer-dependent overillumination correction for X Ray Reflectivity (XRR) scans. The pogram serves as an educational tool for explaining alignment and for a proper overillumination correction of XRR data. !!Paper will be referenced!!. VR can be run by code in Matlab or as a standalone app. It's not necessary to have Matlab installed on your computer if you want to use the standalone app (Download button). You can find a documentation in the wiki tab. The program is freshly released. So feedback is very welcome in order to improve it. You can write a discussion entry in the wiki tab or write me a mail to elias.hils@uni.kn

    lottie vectors

    lottie vectors

Create, display and process 2D vectors in a 3D window.

Lottie Vectors is an application for Matlab that alows you to do some pretty neat things -with vectors. More exactly -displaying them in ways that hopefully will allow you to explore and better understand your vector data. The basic idea is simple, take a vector defined in one of a few different types of data formats and map it on the screen. Add another vector and you start to form a 'route'. Each route or position vector can be accompanied with a 'force' vector. This can be used to show something acting on a position with direction and magnitude. Finally you can give each position a tag to display on screen. This could be a common math symbol or greek letter, start/end signposts, or a number of the position either from the begining or after a reset. After all the information has been loaded for your dataset. Either passed over the command line, or as a text file. Lottie Vectors displays inside a figure that you can resize, rotate and turn 2D positions into a 3D picture.
