To diagnose a problem or simply to study the internal flow of information in an ethercat fieldbus, one of the common practices is to capture the flow of ethercat datagrams with an ethernet sniffer such as Wireshark (www.wireshark.org). Wireshark provides some filters to facilitate data analysis but the high amount of recorded information still makes an analysis complicated for many people who do not have a very deep knowledge of the ethercat protocol and Wireshark tools. Ecang can help these people! Ecang extracts the list of the slaves managed and the PDOs exchanged in an ethercat network directly from the network configuration file (ENI file) .xml, thanks to this data it can read numerous information from the file generated by the sniffer (.pcapng) and transfers them to a comma-separated values ​​file (.csv) already applying a first level of validation.

Our goal is to develop the unix network configuration simulator. The program will provide a fully configurable environment to configure virtual networks, network interfaces and routing tables. The user will be then able to watch the packets flying on.

In an optical network scenario which consists of multiple nodes (whiteboxes) at its edges and ROADMs in-between, the coherent transceiver average laser configuration time is improved. The process is evaluated according to a testbed setup. This is facilitated in the appropriate lab equipment (or via simulation when required). For that purpose, a software agent (Netconf server) residing at the whiteboxes, is developed receiving input from the Software-Defined Networking (SDN) packet controller (PacketCTL - a Netconf client). Then, configuration of the local transceiver laser frequencies of the controlled pluggable devices takes place, for facilitating the connectivity in-between the ROADM network. Also, the agent records and reports back telemetry data (feedback) which is used by the PacketCTL's resource-allocating mechanism to improve efficiency within the network topology.

"Sysmy" is a simple System information program for Linux. It displays different details over the avaiable hardware and network configuration. The programm was written with C++ and runs under a console -> bash !
