socket.io is a JavaScript library that allows for realtime, bi-directional communication between web clients and servers. It is composed of two parts: a Node.js server and a JavaScript client library that runs in the browser. socket.io is focused on both reliability and speed, delivering an immensely powerful, fast and yet easy to use realtime engine that’s used by just about everyone: from Microsoft Office and Zendesk to hackathon winners and small startups. It’s considered one of the most depended-upon npm modules, and works on every platform, browser or device.

Consolidating and extending hosts files from several well-curated sources. You can optionally pick extensions to block pornography, social media, and other categories. The unified hosts file is optionally extensible. Extensions are used to include domains by category. Currently, we offer the following categories: fakenews, social, gambling, and porn. Extensions are optional, and can be combined in various ways with the base hosts file. The combined products are stored in the alternates folder. Data for extensions are stored in the extensions folder. You manage extensions by curating this folder tree, where you will find the data for fakenews, social, gambling, and porn extension data that we maintain and provide for you. Create an optional blacklist file. The contents of this file (containing a listing of additional domains in hosts file format) are appended to the unified hosts file during the update process. A sample blacklist is included, and may be modified as you need.

Fast Artificial Neural Network Library is a free open source neural network library, which implements multilayer artificial neural networks in C with support for both fully connected and sparsely connected networks. Cross-platform execution in both fixed and floating point are supported. It includes a framework for easy handling of training data sets. It is easy to use, versatile, well documented, and fast. Bindings to more than 15 programming languages are available. An easy to read introduction article and a reference manual accompanies the library with examples and recommendations on how to use the library. Several graphical user interfaces are also available for the library.

FastClick is a simple, easy-to-use library for eliminating the 300ms delay between a physical tap and the firing of a click event on mobile browsers. The aim is to make your application feel less laggy and more responsive while avoiding any interference with your current logic. FastClick is developed by FT Labs, part of the Financial Times. Note: As of late 2015 most mobile browsers - notably Chrome and Safari - no longer have a 300ms touch delay, so fastclick offers no benefit on newer browsers, and risks introducing bugs into your application. Consider carefully whether you really need to use it. The library has been deployed as part of the FT Web App. FastClick doesn't attach any listeners on desktop browsers.

silvertunnel.org is a project that provides an end-user browser, a Java library and additional Java security tools to easily access anonymity networks such as the Tor (torproject.org) network. Starscream is a conforming WebSocket (RFC 6455) library in Swift. Once imported, you can open a connection to your WebSocket server. Note that socket is probably best as a property, so it doesn't get deallocated right after being setup. After you are connected, there is either a delegate or closure you can use for process WebSocket events. The writeData method gives you a simple way to send Data (binary) data to the server. The writeString method is the same as writeData, but sends text/string. The writePing method is the same as write, but sends a ping control frame. Starscream will automatically respond to incoming ping control frames so you do not need to manually send pongs. You can override the default websocket headers, add your own custom ones and set a timeout. Update docs on how to load certificates and public keys into an app bundle, use the builtin pinner and TrustKit.

Zepto is a minimalist JavaScript library for modern browsers with a largely jQuery-compatible API. If you use jQuery, you already know how to use Zepto. While 100% jQuery coverage is not a design goal, the APIs provided match their jQuery counterparts. The goal is to have a ~5-10k modular library that downloads and executes fast, with a familiar and versatile API, so you can concentrate on getting stuff done. Zepto is open source software and is released under the developer and business-friendly MIT license. Note that some optional features of Zepto specifically target mobile browsers; as the original project goal was to specifically provide a leaner alternative to jQuery for the mobile web. Zepto is a good choice for browser extensions (for Safari, Chrome and Firefox) and to develop HTML-based views within native app frameworks, such as PhoneGap. In short, Zepto is expected to work in every modern browser and browser-like environment.
