    Android Contacts, Reborn

    Android Contacts, Reborn

Android Contacts API Library written in Kotlin

This library provides a complete set of APIs to do everything you need with Contacts in Android. You no longer have to deal with the Contacts Provider, database operations, and cursors. Whether you just need to get all or some Contacts for a small part of your app (written in Kotlin or Java), or you are looking to create your own full-fledged Contacts app with the same capabilities as the AOSP Android Contacts app and Google Contacts app, this library is for you.

    Android Drag Dismiss Activity

    Android Drag Dismiss Activity

A smooth, easy-to-implement, drag to dismiss Android Activity

Another implementation of the drag-to-dismiss Activity pattern. This one is inspired by Nick Butcher's Plaid implementation. The project has a simple API and is a pretty powerful and beautiful implementation of the pattern. This library is used in some of my apps (Talon for Twitter and Pulse SMS). It has been abstracted from Jacob Klinker and I's article-android library, which is an awesome readability style in-app web browser. This library provides an elastic layout that can dismiss an Activity with a RecyclerView or a regular Activity. Whenever the user swipes up or down, from the bottom or the top of the content, the DragDismissActivity will finish.

    Android Layout Engine

    Android Layout Engine

A JSON based LayoutInflater for Android

Proteus is meant to be a drop-in replacement for Android’s LayoutInflater; but unlike the compiled XML layouts bundled in the APK, Proteus inflates layouts at runtime. With Proteus, you can control your Apps layout from the backend (no WebViews). Forget the boilerplate code to findViewById, cast it to a TextView, and then setText(). Proteus has runtime data bindings and formatters. Plugin in your own custom views and attributes and functions to flavour proteus to your requirements.

    Android ViewPagerIndicator

    Android ViewPagerIndicator

Paging indicator widgets compatible with the ViewPager

ViewPagerIndicator is a library for Android that provides rich, customizable paging indicators (tabs, circles, titles) that integrate with ViewPager from the Android support library (or AndroidX). The point is to give visual feedback for page-swiping content, enhance discoverability of segments, and improve UX for paged content flows like onboarding, photo galleries, or tabbed navigation. The library provides several indicator styles (title, tab, circle, line) and handles wiring to the ViewPager for you: you set the indicator in your layout, bind it to the ViewPager, and it updates as the user swipes. You can theme the indicators via XML, style attributes, or code for full customization. Although the library is archived and no longer actively developed, it remains a significant component in legacy Android apps, showing how to cleanly decouple navigation UI from the pager logic.

    Android-State

A utility library for Android to save objects in a Bundle

A utility library for Android to save objects in a Bundle without any boilerplate. It uses an annotation processor to wire up all dependencies. It's recommended to turn on a global setting in your Application class to save and restore the instance state of all activities and fragments from the support library. After that you only need to annotate your fields with @State inside of your fragments and activities. You can save any type which can be saved in a Bundle like the String, Serializable, and Parcelable data structures.

    AngleSharp

    AngleSharp

The ultimate angle brackets parser library parsing HTML5, MathML, SVG

AngleSharp follows the W3C specifications and gives you the same results as state of the art browsers. Besides the official API AngleSharp adds some useful extension methods on top. This makes working with the DOM convenient. AngleSharp integrates everything you need to explore and mutate the DOM tree. Node retrieval is straight forward by using powerful CSS query selectors. The CSS queries in AngleSharp are super fast and very simple to use. AngleSharp respects the relationship of HTML with CSS. Therefore CSS is a first class citizen in the AngleSharp eco-system. Nevertheless, it is your choice if you want to use CSS with HTML, CSS alone or if you provide your own CSS solution. AngleSharp offers a lot of extension points. One of the best possibilities is providing scripting engines. This gives you a very elegant way of using JavaScript with C# on webpages. You can even script in other languages if you want to.

    Angular Google Maps

    Angular Google Maps

AngularJS directives for the Google Maps Javascript API

Angular Google Maps is a set of AngularJS directives written in CoffeeScript and JavaScript for integrating Google Maps into AngularJS applications. This will generate source maps for development (angular-google-maps_dev_mapped.js) (non minified) and source maps to minified (angular-google-maps_dev_mapped.min.js) files. They each have their own corresponding map files. To get the coinciding source files you will need to copy the generated /tmp directory (currently not under scc). If you plan to hack on the directives or want to run the example, first thing to do is to install NPM dependencies.

    Angular Performance Checklist

    Angular Performance Checklist

Cheatsheet for developing lightning fast progressive Angular apps

Angular Performance Checklist is a practical resource and “cheatsheet” aimed at helping Angular (or AngularJS/Angular-related) developers optimize web application performance, covering both network/load-time optimizations and runtime performance improvements. It outlines actionable recommendations — from bundling and minification, tree-shaking, lazy loading, ahead-of-time (AoT) compilation, resource prefetching, caching and compression, to runtime strategies like change-detection optimization (OnPush, detaching change detectors), minimizing DOM operations, optimizing templates, using pure pipes, minimizing watchers, and more. The checklist is designed to be framework-agnostic in many parts, but especially valuable for Angular developers wanting to build responsive, fast-loading, efficient single-page applications.

    Anthony's VS Code Settings

    Anthony's VS Code Settings

My VS Code settings and extensions

Anthony's VS Code Settings contains the personal VS Code settings, extensions list and snippets of Anthony Fu— essentially his curated development environment configuration. It provides the settings.json, extensions.json, and other snippet files under .vscode/. The idea is for others to inspect, adopt, clone, or adapt his settings for a more consistent VS Code experience. The settings cover font, icons, product icons, theme, file-nesting config (via the other project), linting integration, and other productivity shortcuts. It's not a typical library but rather a shareable developer setup. Because the settings are openly published, it helps anyone to quickly replicate a well-tuned VS Code environment. The repository is under MIT license and includes 2.2k stars, showing community interest.

    Anyhow

    Anyhow

Flexible concrete Error type built on std::error::Error

This is a Rust library (crate) that provides a flexible, concrete error type built atop the standard std::error::Error trait. Its primary goal is to make error handling in applications easy: instead of defining lots of custom error types, you can use anyhow::Error (or the alias anyhow::Result<T>) for fallible functions. The crate supports attaching context to errors, so you can convert a low-level error (like “file not found”) into one with richer diagnostics (“Failed to read instructions from path X”) using .context() or .with_context(). It supports downcasting (so you can inspect the underlying error type), and for recent versions of Rust, it will capture backtraces by default when the underlying error type doesn’t already. It also supports no_std mode (in limited form) by disabling default features. The README distinguishes it from library-oriented error crates (like thiserror): use anyhow when you just care about application-level error handling, not fine-grained types.

    Apache Drill

    Apache Drill

Apache Drill is a distributed MPP query layer for self describing data

Apache Drill is a distributed MPP query layer that supports SQL and alternative query languages against NoSQL and Hadoop data storage systems. It was inspired in part by Google's Dremel. Get faster insights without the overhead (data loading, schema creation and maintenance, transformations, etc.) Analyze the multi-structured and nested data in non-relational datastores directly without transforming or restricting the data. Leverage your existing SQL skillsets and BI tools including Tableau, Qlikview, MicroStrategy, Spotfire, Excel and more. Drill supports a variety of NoSQL databases and file systems, including HBase, MongoDB, MapR-DB, HDFS, MapR-FS, Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, Swift, NAS and local files. A single query can join data from multiple datastores. For example, you can join a user profile collection in MongoDB with a directory of event logs in Hadoop.

    Apollo-11

    Apollo-11

Original Apollo 11 Guidance Computer (AGC) source code

Apollo-11 hosts the original Apollo 11 Guidance Computer (AGC) source code for the Command Module and Lunar Module, faithfully transcribed from historical listings. It is written in AGC assembly and reflects 1960s software engineering practices, complete with comments from the original programmers. The code is both a cultural artifact and a technical reference, illustrating how limited memory and processor constraints shaped algorithms and system design. Developers can examine navigation routines, guidance logic, and task scheduling in an environment with no luxury features—everything is explicit and resource-aware. The repository’s structure and documentation make it approachable for modern readers despite the archaic environment. It’s frequently used in education, talks, and explorations of software history to show how a landmark mission depended on disciplined code and verification.
