Printing of labels from software via .xml files.
Labelprint will give you full label printing capability. Design a label in a GUI. The definition is stored in an XML format. Provide data to be printed in an XML format. Together this will be used to print the label. Also remote printing via the internet from a central location is supported whereby the definition XML files and data XML files are automatically transferred to the remote location. Rendering and printing is automatically done on the receiving location. So this project contains some major components: a designing program to design the labels. A 'server' components which will manage and send the definition xml files to the client. A client component which will receive and optionally render and print. A management program like printmanager which will manage the queue in incoming print requests and allow for printer definitions on the client. A label maker program for 3.5" floppy disks for the Amiga written
A label maker program for 3.5" floppy disks for the Amiga written in 1989 using 100% assembly (Profimat Amiga). Back in those days, it was all about floppy disks. Of course, the floppies came with some stickers to write down the content of the disk but I wanted to use my shiny new 24-pin printer so I wrote this little utility. It worked best using some "Zweckform" labels back then. I can't tell if there are still available today. You can add an image from a selection of images shown here to enhance the overall look of your floppies. Apparently, the program works still nicely inside WinUAE and even the printing works if you setup the printer emulation (I recommend the EpsonQ 48 dot printer). -

In more details, the following is possible with this package. Create raster language files for the Brother label printers. They can be created from image files or programmatically in your own Python script. Print raster instruction files with your Brother label printer via different backends pyusb (works cross-platform) network (works cross-platform for WiFi/Ethernet-enabled printers) linux_kernel (works on Linux only; uses the /dev/usb/lp0 device handles) If your printer has an 'Editor Lite' mode, you need to disable it if you want to print via USB. Make sure that the corresponding LED is not lit by holding the button down until it turns off. The special feature of this package is that no printer driver is required for it to work. -
