XMLStarlet is a set of command line utilities (tools) to transform, query, validate, and edit XML documents and files using simple set of shell commands in similar way it is done for text files with UNIX grep, sed, awk, diff, patch, join, etc utilities.

SURF FIND is a simple and fast grep-like text search software, which keeps the previous search results as separate tabs. It also implements file caching mechanism so that the subsequent searches for the same set of files will be completed faster. Each tab has the list of found files and lines on the left, and the text viewer on the right to show the selected line on the list. On the text viewer, user can select a new keyword and start a new search instantly. On the list view, external editor can be invoked by double clicks. IPGREP is a command line tool to grep IP packets out of PCAP files. It provides basic filter for IP version and IP addresses. It is written in pure C without LIBPCAP, so it should run faster.

mgrep is a command line tool that allows users to search text files for lines matching a given regular expression. It is similar to the well-known Unix utility, grep. As a natural extension to the single-line regular expressions, mgrep is also capable of searching for multiline patterns. mgrep is not a grep replacement, but it is intended to be grep-compatible: implemented options and behavior should be the same as those of grep. mgrep is written in C++ using the Boost.Regex library. A configure/make system is provided for Linux, but its source code should compile on all platforms that have the std and Boost.Regex libraries installed.
