Open Source Mac Graphics Software

3DimViewer is a lightweight 3D viewer of medical DICOM datasets that is distributed as open source software. The viewer is multiplatform software written in C++ that runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux systems. 3DimViewer source codes are available on Bitbucket (https://bitbucket.org/3dimlab/3dimviewer). BoofCV is an open source Java library for real-time computer vision and robotics applications. Written from scratch for ease of use and high performance, it provides both basic and advanced features needed for creating a computer vision system. Functionality include optimized low level image processing routines (e.g. convolution, interpolation, gradient) to high level functionality such as image stabilization. Released under an Apache 2.0 license for both academic and commercial use.

Curv is a programming language for creating art using mathematics. It's a 2D and 3D geometric modelling tool that supports full colour, animation and 3D printing. Curv is a simple, powerful, dynamically typed, pure functional programming language. Curv is easy to use for beginners. It has a standard library of predefined geometric shapes, plus operators for transforming and combining shapes. These can be plugged together like Lego to make 2D and 3D models. Coloured shapes are represented using Function Representation (F-Rep). They can be infinitely detailed, infinitely large, and any shape or colour pattern that can be described using mathematics can be represented exactly. Curv exposes the full power of F-Rep programming to experts. The standard geometry library is written entirely in Curv. Many of the demos seen on shadertoy.com can be reproduced in Curv, using shorter, simpler programs. Experts can package techniques used on shadertoy as high-level operations for use by beginners.

A command line java tool that allows creating images of earthquake occurrences plotted on a map over time. These images can then be used to create a video / animation (with a seperate tool like mencoder)

This is very small tool, which is capable of stitching hundreds of images into one single image. The main purpose of the tool is to stitch small pieces of map taken by screenshots for example from OpenStreetMap. The tool automatically calculates relative positions of every single patch. A single patch has to have considerable amount of margins that are required to find control points that will match a pair of patches.
