This is an issue for me and others, as the server community on Java edition was one of the major parts that made Minecraft what it was, and what also made the servers that are now considered 'Mojang Server Partners' what they are today. I wanted to fix this, so I made a solution that anyone can set up easily. -

Skript is a Bukkit plugin which allows server admins
Skript is (surprise, surprise) a scripting plugin for the Bukkit platform. It is easy to use for simple tasks, but you can also create really complex things with it. The syntax of Skript is close to English, but it is still not magic. While you might succeed with experimentation for simple tasks, for anything more complex you will need some guidance. You will find all supported features of the plugin here, along with some useful examples. We don't have tutorials yet, but you can find good ones using whatever search engine you prefer. Skript requires Spigot to work. You heard it right, CraftBukkit does not work. Paper, which is a fork of Spigot, is recommended; it is required for some parts of Skript to be available. Skript supports only the latest patch versions of Minecraft 1.9+. For example, this means that 1.16.5 is supported, but 1.16.4 is not. Testing with all old patch versions is not feasible for us. -

A modern shaders mod for Minecraft compatible with existing OptiFine
Iris was created to fill a void that I saw in the Minecraft customization and graphical enhancement community: the lack of an open-source shaders mod that would let me load my favorite shader packs on modern versions of the game, while retaining performance and compatibility with modpacks. OptiFine, the current dominant mod for loading shader packs, has restrictive licensing that firmly stands in the way of any sort of tinkering, and is fairly notorious for having compatibility issues with the mods that I like. It's also mutually incompatible with Sodium, the best rendering optimization mod in existence by a large margin. ShadersMod was never updated past 1.12, and it lacks support for many of the many modern popular shaderpacks. So I created Iris, to try and solve these issues, and also address many other longstanding issues with shader packs. I first and foremost develop Iris to meet my own needs of a performance-oriented shaders mod with good compatibility. -

BlueMap is a program that reads your Minecraft world files and generates not only a map, but also 3D models of the whole surface. With the web app you then can look at those in your browser and basically view the world as if you were ingame! Or just look at it from far away to get an overview. BlueMap comes as a Spigot/Paper or Sponge Plugin, as a Fabric or Forge-Mod and you can also use BlueMap without any Server from the Command-Line as a standalone tool. If installed as a Plugin/Mod, BlueMap renders asynchronously to your MinecraftServer-Thread. This means at no time it will block your server thread directly. So as long as your CPU is not fully utilized, your server should not be slowed down while BlueMap is rendering. -

Phosphor is a free and open-source Minecraft mod (under GNU GPLv3) aiming to save your CPU cycles and improve performance by optimizing one of Minecraft's most inefficient areas-- the lighting engine. It works on both the client and server and can be installed on servers without requiring clients to also have the mod. The mod is designed to be as minimal as possible in the changes it makes, and as such, does not modify the light model or interfaces of vanilla Minecraft. Because of this, Phosphor should be compatible with many Minecraft mods (so long as they do not make drastic changes to how the lighting engine works.) A Forge implementation of the Sponge API. SpongeForge uses Gradle as its build system. The repo includes the Gradle wrapper that will automatically download the correct Gradle version. Local installations of Gradle may work but are untested. To execute the Gradle wrapper, run the ./gradlew script on Unix systems or only gradlew on Windows systems. In order to build SpongeForge you simply need to run the gradlew command. On Windows systems you should run gradlew instead of ./gradlew to invoke the Gradle wrapper. SpongeForge is the implementation of the Sponge API on the Minecraft Forge platform. Recommended for running plugins together with Forge mods. The purpose of the Sponge project is to create a plugin development framework for Minecraft: Java Edition. Sponge is being created by a global community, and its open-source nature means anyone can participate. -
