TagSpaces is a free, no vendor lock-in, open source application for organizing, annotating and managing local files with the help of tags. It features advanced note taking functionalities and some capabilities of to-do apps. The application is available for Windows, Linux, Mac OS and Android. We provide a web clipper extension for Firefox, Edge and Chrome for easy collecting of online content in the form of local files. File and folder management - TagSpaces provides a convenient user interface for browsing, viewing and man files and folders. The application supports two ways for tagging files. The default one embeds the tags directly in the name of the file, the other one uses a so called sidecar files for persisting the tags. The search functionality supports fuzzy functionality and can filter your locations for files and folders containing one or more tags.

This program allows you to tag files with any tags and search through tagged files. UI is not the best so please look at the title of a window if you don't know what the window does. Usage - By window titles • Search Files - In this window you can search tagged files, but you need to tag some files first. If you have tagged files already you can search through them by entering tag or tags(separate tags with a space) into box at the top and clicking the Search button. • Select File - In this window you select a file to be tagged, you can change directory with button in the top left corner, to tag a file you need to select it from the list and click Next button, or double click a file on the list. • Tag Files - Here you can assign tags to the selected file, write your tag in the box and press the Add button, your tag will appear in the list below, you can delete a tag by selecting it and clicking Remove Tag button. This is a simple application to bookmark/tag your folder/file. Filesystem will not be affected. You can add tag by directly right clicking the folder/file. For searching, approximate word matching is used. Files/folders will be sorted for required tags and the most matching will come on the top. For tagging websites, right now, you have to copy paste path. Plugin/extension for web-browsers need to be done.

This Java software is useful to set id3v1 and id3v2 tags on mp3 files, possibly in a massive way. It helps you managing a song database, searching for duplicate songs. It has a rename file utility, not only for mp3 files. It has an utility panel to create playlists, re-organize files in folders with the name format you prefer, an utility to optimize the CD disk space. This program was written in 2002, so I don't remember much about it ... but I used it a lot, as much as my close friends. I decided only now (shame on me) to share it with everybody in the world.
