Fluent is an ORM framework for Swift. It takes advantage of Swift's strong type system to provide an easy-to-use interface for your database. Using Fluent centers around the creation of model types that represent data structures in your database. These models are then used to perform create, read, update, and delete operations instead of writing raw queries. When creating a project using vapor new, answer "yes" to including Fluent and choose which database driver you want to use. This will automatically add the dependencies to your new project as well as example configuration code. If you have an existing project that you want to add Fluent to, you will need to add two dependencies to your package. PostgreSQL is an open source, standards compliant SQL database. It is easily configurable on most cloud hosting providers. This is Fluent's recommended database driver.

GRDB.swift is a comprehensive SQLite toolkit for Swift developers, providing type-safe database access through mapping to Swift structs and records. It offers query building, migrations, concurrency control, and Swift Codable integration—ideal for local or embedded data persistence in iOS, macOS, and cross-platform Swift applications.

The Realm Database Swift SDK enables mobile applications to access data stored in local realms. Optionally, interact with App Services features such as Functions, MongoDB Data Access, and authentication. The Realm Swift SDK supports Swift and Objective-C and provides SwiftUI-friendly property wrappers. With the Realm Swift SDK, you can access objects stored in a local instance of Realm Database. Create a new object as you would instantiate any other object. Then, pass it to Realm Database inside a write transaction. Update objects by updating field values on an instance of the object within a transaction. Register a notification handler on an entire realm, a collection, or an object, and react to changes. Because Realm Database objects are live objects, they're automatically updated when they're modified.
