Matplotlib is a python library for making publication quality plots using a syntax familiar to MATLAB users. Matplotlib uses numpy for numerics. Output formats include PDF, Postscript, SVG, and PNG, as well as screen display. As of matplotlib version 1.5, we are no longer making file releases available on SourceForge. Please visit http://matplotlib.org/users/installing.html for help obtaining matplotlib.

A tool to draw various charts from textual descriptions. Currently, three types of charts are supported: Message Sequence Charts, generic Graphs, and Block Diagrams, with more to be added in the future. There is a command-line version for Linux and Mac (replacing mscgen), which now sports a GUI, as well. Msc-generator allows fine control over the appearance and has a rich feature set complete with detailed documentation. On Windows, you can embed the charts in a document or presentation and simply double-click it in Office to edit them. On Linux and the Mac, a command-line version is available, and a GUI, as well. A .deb package is available starting from Debian Bookworm (currently testing) and Ubuntu Jammy Jellyfish (22.04) from the official repositories. For older releases see the Wiki. A Mac homebrew package is available.

FractalNow provides users with tools to generate pictures of various types of fractals quickly and easily. It is made of both a command line tool, FractalNow, and a graphical tool, QFractalNow. The graphical tool, based on Qt library, allows users to explore fractals intuitively and generate pictures. Both tools are entirely multi-threaded and implement advanced algorithms and heuristics that make computation very fast compared to most existing free fractal generators.

VR Juggler is a virtual platform for virtual reality application development created at the Virtual Reality Applications Center at Iowa State University. Applications developed in VR Juggler can transparently move between a wide range of VR systems.

A collection of OpenGL samples: It doesn't contain a lot of comments, nor does it use the features for complex effects, but they still show how to set up all the different new features.

A Java class library for visualizing quantitative data using two-dimensional category charts [pie, line, vertical bar, horizontal bar, scatter-plot (dot), combination, and overlay charts]. Charts are of type JComponent and BufferedImage.

TacitPixel is a scalable C++ framework for building application prototypes for interactive collaborative VR/AR applications. It provides a number of features that make prototyping fast and portable. TacitPixel is the successor of the TAP and Twisted Pair engines.

zimg generates png / jpeg images from arbitrary formatted 2-D ascii or binary data. zimg is a command line tool and suitable for rendering large amounts of 2-D data. zimg is highly configurable via command line switches and dynamically loadable objects.

Strings edit is a library that provides I/O facilities for integers, floating-point numbers, Roman numerals, and strings. Both input and output subroutines support string pointers for consequent stream processing. The output can be aligned in a fixed size field with padding. Numeric input can be checked against expected values range to be either saturated or to raise an exception. For floating-point output either relative or absolute output precision can be specified. UTF-8 encoded strings are supported, including wildcard pattern matching, sets and maps of code points, upper/lowercase, and other Unicode categorizations.

JOELib/JOELib2 is a cheminformatics library which supports SMARTS substructure search, descriptor calculation, processing/filtering pipes, conversion of file formats, 100% pure Java, and interfaces to external programs (e.g. Ghemical) are available.

A small and easy to use framebuffer graphics library

CoFlo generates Control-Flow Graphs from C and C++ source code. It can then output the graphs in a number of ways and perform various control flow analyses. NOTE: CoFlo has not been under active development for several years. At this time, I suggest you look into LLVM-based tooling to see if there is anything similar to CoFlo which will meet your needs.

FrAid(FRactal AID) is an interface to Java, allowing it to proc. math. data(functions/equations). A compl. standalone system utilizing the FrAid prog. lang. is available(no need to be Java programmer to use it!). Use instead of Matlab. High res. graphics

G2C (Geospatial to Civil) The LandGML Interoperability Experiment initiated by Autodesk, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center, and Galdos Systems. this open source tool transforms LandGML into LandXML documents.

GiANT is a graphical interface for computer algebra systems (OS X/UNIX/Win). Currently GiANT lets the user work with number fields via KASH, but we aim to develop it into a GUI Library to run on top of any CAS and expose any of its functions.
