The purpose of this project is to create and update a beginners guide to FreeBASIC. Over the years I have noticed that there was only three real ways to learn FreeBASIC. The FreeBASIC Documentation, the FreeBASIC Community Forum, and A old beginners guide written by Richard D. Clark and Ebben Feagan. Each of these sources are great, but they all assume some experience with a programming language. This Project is taking Richard D. Clark's and Ebben Feagan's "A Beginner's Guide to FreeBasic" and is editing, updating, reorganizing, and simplifying this guide. Mr. Clark and Mr. Feagan generously open sourced there guide so I could start this project. Without being able to stand on their shoulders I could not have even started this project. This project is dedicated to developing more readable format(s) for Lisp-based languages (such as Common Lisp and Scheme) and implementing those formats (readers, pretty-printers, editor macros, etc.). MIT license preferred, to spread them widely.

mspgcc4 is no longer supported. Please use the newer toolchain at the MSPGCC project. (This was a port of the GCC 4.x branch to the Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontroller core. It is based on the MSPGCC project that is stuck with GCC 3.2.3.)

ATasm is a 6502 command-line cross-assembler that is compatible with the original Mac/65 macro assembler released by OSS software. The aim of ATasm is to provide Atari home-brew coders with a comfortable and powerful toolset.

JODE is a java package containing a decompiler and an optimizer (aka obfuscator ;-) for java.

The Ring is a practical general-purpose multi-paradigm language. SableCC is a parser generator which generates object-oriented frameworks for building compilers, interpreters and other text parsers. SableCC keeps a clean separation between machine and user code which leads to a shorter development cycle.

A programming language AL-IV (ALFOUR) is a high-level imperative object oriented programming language with minimal introduction level, easy porting to any platform claiming a very high level of safety and stability, with a controllable level of code protection, high efficiency of an executable code, full independence from a target platform, minimal enter level.

JFlex is a flex-like lexer generator for Java with emphasis on speed and full Unicode support. It has some not so usual features like negation in regexps and nested input streams. Also reads JLex specifications unchanged.

ThinLisp is a practical dialect of lisp for real world applications. You develop in Common Lisp, you deploy in C. ThinLisp programs are as fast as C, by design. Used for a decade in million line systems.

RES is a pure Java based Open Source Cobol to Java translator. It creates maintainable Java code for a subset of VS Cobol syntax. It has been developed with JDK, JTB and Javacc.

p5c is a fast portable iso standard pascal compiler. It is derived from the pascal p5 compiler and creates gnu c code instead of p-code. This makes it very fast since it uses gcc to generate native code. p5c is multi platform - it is easy to get up and running since you only need gcc to start. Using gcc enables extra tools like a static analyser and code coverage analyser. An API and a graphical tool for inspection (viewing, searching and comparing) and manipulation (modification, obfuscation, refactoring of methods, fields, attributes and code) of classfiles for the Java platform.

Tool to transcribe Parsing Expression Grammar into a parser written in Java. Parsing Expression Grammar (PEG) is a way to specify recursive-descent parsers with limited backtracking. The use of backtracking lifts the LL(1) restriction usually imposed by top-down parsers. In addition, PEG can define parsers with integrated lexing. Unlike some existing parser generators for PEG, the tool does not produce a complex and storage-hungry "packrat parser", but a collection of transparent recursive procedures. The tool can handle left recursion. An integral feature of "Mouse" is the mechanism for specifying semantics (also in Java). This makes "Mouse" a convenient tool if one needs an ad-hoc language processor. Being written in Java, the processor is operating-system independent. Included in the package is PEG Explorer, an interactive tool to investigate the effect of limited backtracking. Sample grammars for Java & C are available from the Web Site.

This sourceforge site for the project is now DEPRECATED and not updated. All current work and new releases are on github: https://github.com/OpenJML/OpenJML. The Java Modeling Language (JML) is a behavioral interface specification language that can be used to specify the behavior of Java modules (as in design by contract -- DBC). It has many tools to do assertion checking, unit testing, etc. The principal current tool of the project is OpenJML -- cf. https://www.openjml.org, with binary downloads from https://github.com/OpenJML/OpenJML/releases/latest
