Cdred is a Linux driver and two programs that enables *any* CD player software (xfreecd,gtcd,etc.) to use audio CDs inserted in other computer. In other words: you can listen an audio cd in a Linux box that doesn't have that cd inserted.

Automates ripping CD's via a server script that listens for commands over TCP. Can rip to ogg, flac, and mp3. Can upload music to any machine when finished, and sends an email notification when finished. Designed to run on a machine that is headless,

ctrlMedia: media center (audio, video, images, tv, ..) enginereed for car embedded use. Runs on Linux framebuffer/SDL Library using DirectFB. Uses external (opensource) libraries to reproduce contents.

The cueCreator generates CUE Sheets that can be used for burning Audio CDs. The benefit is, that you can burn an Audio CD with a various number of tracks by using only one MP3 File.

(cuetools is now hosted on github) cuetools is a set of utilities for working with cue files and toc files.

daoism is a WYHIWYG (What You Hear Is What You Get) cd editor/creator. The goal is to provide a quick and easy way for you to make exactly the cd you want, without annoying restrictions or complexities holding you back.

discid is a small program to calculate the disc-ID for audio compact discs. The disc-ID can be used to query info (tracks, title, interpret) about compact audio discs from a CDDB-Server.

Bash script for cdr/cdrw burning. Can burn data and audio, and use multisession. Can also rip to ogg vorbis.

A Framework for mp3 content. Base is a database containing your music. On top there may be plugins for ripping, playing and converting music content.

Library and command line utility to store binary data in FLAC application metadata blocks, specifically ISO data tracks. Using the data in these blocks it is possible to archive and recreate a bit accurate copy of Enhanced CD/CD Extra discs.

UPDATE april 2017: We have now accuired access to the old grip project here on SF. Coding will therefore move back to the original project page, sometime during easter (april 2017) Grip is a GTK-based CD-player and CD-ripper / MP3 encoder. It has the ripping capabilities of cdparanoia built in, but can also use external rippers. This is a fork of the old Grip project. The original name is the same, only the project name and tarball releases is different. it is intended to be a dropin replacement of the old Grip.

gtkrip is a simple frontend for cdparanoia, oggenc, flac and cdrecord. The goal is to reduce the nr of options, and make it simple. It is written in pure C (no C++). gtkrip should be launched from a term so u can see the messages (saves mem)

Id3edit is an ID3 tag editor for the mp3 file format. Id3edit is command line driven, therefore it is very fast and efficient.

jTagEditor is an pure Java Swing-Application with the goal to edit Tags (i.e. ID3v1, ID3v2 etc.) within Music-Files like MP3s and Others. jTagEditor support freedb.org queries and plays Music-Files using the JLayer-Project.

Full featured command line CD player with (also) its own console

libfreedb is a comprehensive library for accessing the freedb-database, maintaining local databases and the like. Development is currently done under Linux, but the project aims to be portable to a lot of platforms including Win32.

Intended for Portable Devices, m3uPort reads a playlist and recreates the relative path structure to it's references , copying the references and a rewritten playlist (using relative paths) in a chosen "Root" directory. Problematic could be if files are on different drives, thus the possibility of equal file and/or directory names.

Music CD to mp3 conversion cluster enabled scripts.

This is a patch for mkisofs so that it can write mp3 files in a correct order. This is intended to create CDs full of mp3 to be read in portable CD players, like the eXpanium.
