gPhoto is a program and library framework that lets users download pictures from their digital cameras. The libgphoto2 library gives you access to hundreds of models of digital cameras on several platforms. GIT repo and Issue tracker lives at https://github.com/gphoto/ these days.

GraphicsMagick provides a set of commandline tools and programming APIs for manipulating, editing, and converting raster and vector images. It is derived from ImageMagick, with the objective of providing better stability and performance than ImageMagick while retaining the original MIT/X11 license.

gImageReader is a simple Gtk/Qt front-end to tesseract. Features include: - Import PDF documents and images from disk, scanning devices, clipboard and screenshots - Process multiple images and documents in one go - Manual or automatic recognition area definition - Recognize to plain text or to hOCR documents - Recognized text displayed directly next to the image - Post-process the recognized text, including spellchecking - Generate PDF documents from hOCR documents **Note**: This page is only a mirror for the downloads. asciinema is a free and open source terminal session recorder. It lets you easily record and play back terminal sessions in the terminal or in a web browser. Forget old screen recording methods and resulting blurry videos. asciinema lets you record your terminal sessions the right way, which is right where you work, in the terminal. Recording is as easy as running one command, and since it’s purely text-based you can copy and paste any content you want, simply pause the recording! You can also easily share your recordings on the web, embed an asciicast player in your blog post, project documentation page or in your conference talk slides. Scanning albums is not an easy task, since the extraction of actual photographs within scans is usually very tedious. This tool allows you to scan as much as you can fit into your scanner and then semi-automatedly extract the contained photographs. xvidcap is a screen capture enabling you to capture videos off your X-Window desktop for illustration or documentation purposes. It is intended to be a standards-based alternative to tools like Lotus ScreenCam.

Krut Computer Recorder is a screencast tool to record audio and video from your computer screen into .mov-files and .wav-files. It can be used to e.g. make video tutorials or record games. It could also be used to record streaming video and audio.

YASW (Yet Another Scan Wizard) is an application used to correct images taken with a camera. NOTE: We are moving this project to GitHub! Digital photographs are not ideal. Of course, the better is your camera, the better the results will be, but in any case if you look carefully at shots taken even by the most expensive cameras equipped with the most expensive lenses you will see various artifacts. It is very hard to make ideal cameras, because there are a lot of factors that affect the final image quality, and at some point camera and lens designers have to trade one factor for another to achieve the optimal image quality, within the given design restrictions and budget. But we all want ideal shots, don't we? :) So that's what's lensfun is all about - rectifying the defects introduced by your photographic equipment.

ZoneMinder is video and cctv surveillance and security application. It supports multiple video or IP cameras and a sophisticated motion detection system based around zones. Both live streams and historic events can be viewed via the web interface.

scanbd is a scanner button daemon. It polls the scanner buttons looking for buttons pressed or function knob changes or other scanner events as paper inserts / removals and at the same time allows also scan-applications to access the scanners. If buttons are pressed, etc., various actions can be submitted (scan, copy, email, ...) via action scripts. The function knob values are passed to the action-scripts as well. Scan actions are also signaled via dbus. This can be useful for foreign applications. Scans can also be triggered via dbus from foreign applications. On platforms which support signaling of dynamic device insertion / removal (libudev, dbus, hal) scanbd supports this as well. scanbd can use all sane-backends or some special backends from the (old) scanbuttond project. ScanTWAIN is an Open Source TWAIN production quality scanning application based on QT 3.x. ScanTWAIN allows for duplex scanning from automatic document feeder (ADF) based scanners via TWAIN.
