Perl-Dist-Strawberry is tooling to build and package releases for Perl on Windows. Strawberry Perl is a binary distribution of Perl for the Windows operating system, including a bundled compiler and pre-installed modules.

Makepp, a build program which has a number of features that allow for reliable builds and simpler build files, is a drop-in replacement for GNU make. It supports almost all of the syntax that GNU make supports, and can be used with makefiles produced by utilities such as automake. It is called makepp (or make++) because it was designed with special support for C++, which has since been extended to other languages like Swig or embedded SQL. Some features that makepp adds to make are: greatly improved handling of builds that involve multiple makefiles (recursive make is no longer necessary); automatic scanning for include files; rebuild triggered if build command changes; checksum-based signature methods for reliable builds, smart enough to ignore whitespace or comment changes; extensibility through Perl programming (within your makefile); repositories (automatically importing files from another tree); build caches (not recompiling identically what a user of the same cache already did

The DevTools project is an open-source (BSD-licensed) set of development tools, including a set of shared gmake-style utility makefiles, the TLM version-control wrapper, and various other little utility C++ programs and Perl and Python scripts.

The purpose of the Regex Assistant is to help you to write regular expressions. With the Regex Assistant you can edit a Perl regex and visualize its behavior. This is an HTML Application (HTA) developped with PerlScript of the ActiveState company.

This project has a lively SVN repository for build recipes, over 1000 F/OSS softwares are available. The tool "pkgbuild" is for building packages on Solaris 11/OpenIndiana from RPM-like spec files. The tool also runs on OmniOS. If you want, you can create new style IPS packages and old style SVR4 packages for Solaris 10. The tool is not updated frequently, but the following "build recipes" for pkgbuild is updated every day. For a few hundred build-recipes see the sub-project "spec-files-extra" or "SFE". We already have stacks of e.g. multimedia players mplyer/vlc or postfix/dovecot/cyrus-sasl/spamfiltering. But there is so much more to be added! Volunteers to the build-recipes are always welcome.
