Flux is the application architecture that Facebook uses for building client-side web applications. It complements React's composable view components by utilizing a unidirectional data flow. It's more of a pattern rather than a formal framework, and you can start using Flux immediately without a lot of new code. Flux applications have three major parts: the dispatcher, the stores, and the views (React components). These should not be confused with Model-View-Controller. Controllers do exist in a Flux application, but they are controller-views — views often found at the top of the hierarchy that retrieve data from the stores and pass this data down to their children. Additionally, action creators — dispatcher helper methods — are used to support a semantic API that describes all changes that are possible in the application. It can be useful to think of them as a fourth part of the Flux update cycle.

Formake is a generic build system template OR build system from scratch project. Formake provides generic project that builds several executables and libraries. Formake declares to be bloatless, portable, conform to known UNIX standards and be simple in sense of using only standard Shell and Make. Pluggable foundation blocks for building loosely coupled distributed apps. Includes implementations in Redis, Azure, AWS, RabbitMQ and in memory (for development). When building several big cloud applications we found a lack of great solutions (that's not to say there aren't solutions out there) for many key pieces to building scalable distributed applications while keeping the development experience simple. Wanted to build against abstract interfaces so that we could easily change implementations. Wanted the blocks to be dependency injection friendly. We were initially using an open-source Redis cache client but then it turned into a commercial product with high licensing costs. Not only that but there weren't any in-memory implementations so every developer was required to set up and configure Redis. We initially looked at NServiceBus (a great product) but it had high licensing costs (they have to eat too) and was not OSS friendly.

Fragit provides high level ant tasks in order greatly simplify the Java build process. These tasks can be chained together in order to painlessly switch between different deployment strategies - eg 3-tier for release versus 2-tier for development.

GBuildSys is a generic build system for GNU environments. It supports independent build configurations (debug, release, etc.) in the same source tree.

With GNAT GPL 2013, AdaCore have extracted internal compiler components into a library called gnat_util, which is used by (at least) ASIS and GNATColl. GNAT Util GPL 2013 contains components from the GNAT GPL 2013 compiler. At least for ASIS, the components used to build it must match the components in the compiler, so if building ASIS for use with (for example) FSF GCC 4.8.0 a version of GNAT Util is needed which contains components from FSF GCC 4.8.0. This project provides such a library. The code is released under GPL V3.0 without any Runtime Exception, because the compiler components are themselves pure GPL. NOTE: This library was written to support building Ada tools for Darwin (Mac OS X), and contains Darwin-specific choices.
