Relay is data-fetching turned declarative. Components declare their data dependencies, without worrying about how to fetch them. Relay guarantees that the data each component needs is fetched and available. This keeps components decoupled and promotes reuse. With Relay, components and their data dependencies can be quickly modified without modifying other parts of the system. That means you won't accidentally break other components as you refactor or make changes to your app. Relay's compiler aggregates and optimizes the data requirements for your entire app, so that they can be efficiently fetched in a single GraphQL request. Relay handles the heavy lifting to ensure the data declared by your components is fetched in the most efficient way. For example, by deduplicating identical fields, and precomputing information used at runtime, among other optimizations. Rickshaw relies on the fantastic D3 visualization library to do lots of the heavy lifting for stacking and rendering to SVG. Some extensions require jQuery and jQuery UI, but for drawing some basic graphs you'll be okay without. Rickshaw uses jsdom to run unit tests in Node to be able to do SVG manipulation. As of the jsdom 7.0.0 release, jsdom requires Node.js 4 or newer jsdom changelog. -

As a result no dependency on jQuery or Bootstrap's JavaScript is required. Build files for all directives are distributed in several flavours: minified for production usage, un-minified for development, with or without templates. It should be noted that the -tpls files contain the templates bundled in JavaScript, while the regular version does not contain the bundled templates. Alternativelly, if you are only interested in a subset of directives, you can create your own build. Whichever method you choose the good news that the overall size of a download is fairly small: 122K minified for all directives with templates and 98K without (~31kB with gzip compression, with templates, and 28K gzipped without). -

This results in simple, readable, and maintainable code. Despite being simple, V gives a lot of power to the developer and can be used in pretty much every field, including systems programming, webdev, gamedev, GUI, mobile, science, embedded, tooling, etc. V avoids doing unnecessary allocations in the first place by using value types, and string buffers, promoting a simple abstraction-free code style. Most objects (~90-100%) are freed by V's auto-free engine: the compiler inserts necessary free calls automatically during compilation. A remaining small percentage of objects is freed via GC. The developer doesn't need to change anything in their code. "It just works", like in Python, Go, or Java, except there's no heavy GC tracing everything or expensive RC for each object. -

Preload files allow you to execute JS with Node integration in the context of your Vue App (shared window variable). This package was originally named react-chrome-redux. webext-redux allows you to build your Web Extension like a Redux-powered webapp. The background page holds the Redux store, while Popovers and Content-Scripts act as UI Components, passing actions and state updates between themselves and the background store. At the end of the day, you have a single source of truth (your Redux store) that describes the entire state of your extension. As described in the introduction, there are two pieces to a basic implementation of this package. The dispatches called from UI component will find their way to the background page no problem. The new state from your background page will make sure to find its way back to the UI components. Implement actions whose logic only happens in the background script (we call them aliases). -

Yup
Dead simple Object schema validation
Yup is a JavaScript schema builder for value parsing and validation. Define a schema, transform a value to match, validate the shape of an existing value, or both. Yup schema are extremely expressive and allow modeling complex, interdependent validations, or value transformations. Yup's API is heavily inspired by Joi, but leaner and built with client-side validation as its primary use-case. Yup separates the parsing and validating functions into separate steps. cast() transforms data while validate checks that the input is the correct shape. Each can be performed together (such as HTML form validation) or seperately (such as deserializing trusted data from APIs). Yup always relies on the Promise global object to handle asynchronous values as well as Set and Map. For browsers that do not support these, you'll need to include a polyfill, such as core-js. -

babel-plugin-macros
Allows you to build simple compile-time libraries
Currently, each babel plugin in the babel ecosystem requires that you configure it individually. This is fine for things like language features but can be a frustrating overhead for libraries that allow for compile-time code transformation as an optimization. babel-plugin-macros defines a standard interface for libraries that want to use compile-time code transformation without requiring the user to add a babel plugin to their build system (other than babel-plugin-macros, which is ideally already in place). There is cpu usage/time overhead; the client needs to run the code to generate these classes every time the page loads. There is code bundle size overhead; the client needs to receive a CSS parser in order to generate these class names, and shipping this makes the amount of js the client needs to parse larger. Eval-ing out code at compile time that will be baked into the runtime code, for instance, to get a list of directories in the filesystem.
