Clonezilla is a partition and disk imaging/cloning program similar to True Image®. It saves and restores only used blocks in hard drive. Two types of Clonezilla are available, Clonezilla live and Clonezilla SE (Server Edition).

OpenMediaVault is the next generation network attached storage (NAS) solution based on Debian Linux. It contains services like SSH, (S)FTP, SMB/CIFS, DAAP media server, RSync, BitTorrent client and many more. Thanks to the modular design of the framework it can be enhanced via plugins. OpenMediaVault is primarily designed to be used in home environments or small home offices, but is not limited to those scenarios. FOG is a free open-source cloning/imaging solution/rescue suite. FOG can be used to image Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Window 8 PCs using PXE, PartClone, and a Web GUI to tie it together. Includes featues like memory and disk test, disk wipe, av scan & task scheduling.

m23 is a free software distribution system (license: GPL), that installs (via network, starting with partitioning and formatting) and administrates (updates, adds / removes software, adds / removes scripts) clients with Debian, (X/K)Ubuntu and LinuxMint. It is used for deployment of Linux clients in schools, institutions and enterprises. The m23 server is controlled via a web interface. A new m23 client can be installed easily in only three steps. Group functions and mass installation tools make managing a vast number of clients comfortable. The integration of existing clients (with .deb-based distributions) into the system is possible, too. Client backup and server backup are included to avoid data loss. With the integrated virtualisation software, m23 can create and manage virtual m23 clients, that run on real m23 clients or the m23 server. Scripts and software packages (for installation on clients) can be created directly from the m23 web interface.

This is a BASH shell script written for LINUX. This script uses the dd command to make mirror images of a drive. It can copy from one drive to another, or can copy the contents of a drive to a file. It uses friendly menus and makes a nice log.

LRSR / Linux Restore ScRipt is a command line (Bash/Perl) script for restoring system information. LRSR also can be edited to create "Mini" distros from a pre-existing UNIX/Linux computer.

This bash-script checks that backups are not too old, that the last backup had no errors, that all shares and subshares exist in the data root directory, etc. This plugin and the "check_backuppc" check sligtly different things, and in different was. You can use both... Tested on: BackupPC 3.2.1 / Ubuntu 12.04 Should work in most similar systems i think. Let me know otherwise (create a ticket!). Installation is easy: Just put the check-script inyour nagios server, and the other (included) script somewhere so that the check-script can find it (e.g. in the $PATH, or edit the check script for a custom location).

Bash script to clone the package state of a debian system, or, in other words, the list of currently installed packages, to another system(s). It is fairly simple, but serves it's purpose very well.

CMage provides the ability to create an image of a filesystem on an IDE/SATA device and apply the image to a second hard drive of either IDE or SATA with a smaller, equal, or larger device size. CMage is run from a linux based liveCD on the terminal.

dumpnet is a collection of bash scripts that allows you to backup multiple servers simultaneously. You can do incremental file system dumps with tar, dump and rsync, backup databases and much more. AIDE can also easily be integrated.

Etckeeper-ng is a bash script which uses git and rsync awk sed and find to create a backup directory of your /etc linux directory. It is easy to configure. The default configuration should work on most boxes. Just make sure you have git rsync and all the other requirements installed. When you use the etckeeper-ng the first time open a terminal and type "etckeeper-ng init" to create your first initial backup or "etckeeper-ng help" to show the help for this script.
