The toolkit glpk supports methods for mixed integer linear programming (MILP). These methods solve Capital Budgeting Problems (CBP). Unfortunately, glpk does not support any multithreading and there is no feature to distribute problems via network connections. Today, this is a pitiable sight, because modern computer systems are coupled by networks and support multi threading. We create a distributed system with Apache thrift and the C-API of glpk. Now, it is possible to use as many cores in a network as you want. With a focus on the MILP methods we implement a load balancing and speed up the solving process in a multiplicative way. Sometimes we have super-linear speedup with a small set of hardware. With a splitting of problems, parallel computing and distributing the actual best solution to all running processes we solve CBP much faster than a sequential processing can do.

Consistent Depth is a research project developed by Facebook Research that presents an algorithm for reconstructing dense and geometrically consistent depth information for all pixels in a monocular video. The system builds upon traditional structure-from-motion (SfM) techniques to provide geometric constraints while integrating a convolutional neural network trained for single-image depth estimation. During inference, the model fine-tunes itself to align with the geometric constraints of a specific input video, ensuring stable and realistic depth maps even in less-constrained regions. This approach achieves improved geometric consistency and visual stability compared to prior monocular reconstruction methods. The project can process challenging hand-held video footage, including those with moderate dynamic motion, making it practical for real-world usage.

DRAMMS is a software package designed for 2D-to-2D and 3D-to-3D deformable medical image registration tasks. Released by Section of Biomedical Image Analysis (SBIA) at the University of Pennsylvania. Some typical applications of DRAMMS include, -- Cross-subject registration of the same organ (can be brain, breast, cardiac, etc); -- Mono- and Multi-modality registration (MRI, CT, histology); -- Longitudinal registration (pediatric brain growth, cancer development, mouse brain development, etc); -- Registration under missing correspondences (e.g., vascular lesions, tumors, histological cuts). DRAMMS runs in command line in UNIX/Mac OS, It accepts Nifti/ANALYZE/MetaImage image formats. It is fully-automatic --- takes two input images, and generates a registered image and (optionally) the deformation field.
