    SIREN

    SIREN

    Renewable Energy Network tool

SIREN demonstrates how electricity demand may be met by a mix of renewable energy sources. Users explore potential location and scale of renewable energy sources (stations, storage, transmission) to meet electricity demand. SIREN allows you to build scenarios for the energy mix for your area of interest. It is based around the map of your chosen area and allows you to visualise the layout of the existing electricity network plus the additional stations you place on the map to build your scenario(s). ...

    RAPSim - Microgrid Simulator

    RAPSim - Microgrid Simulator

An easy to use GUI enables electric source and grid simulation.

RAPSim (Renewable Alternative Powersystems Simulation) is a free and open source micro-grid simulation framework for better understanding of power flowing behavior in smart microgrids with renewable sources. It is able to simulate grid-connected or standalone microgrids with solar, wind or other renewable energy sources. The proposed software calculates the power generated by each source in the microgrid and then it conducts a power flow analysis.

    Mjölnir

    Mjölnir

    The Open-Source Energy Advisor

The integration of renewable energy sources increases the complexity in maintaining the main grid. While demand response can rely on the flexibility resulting from device operation, the success of this mechanism is heavily reliant on the exchange of information between the grid and the consumers. Mjölnir is an out-of-the-box framework providing a platform were various feedback concepts can be assessed.

    ScorePlus: Smart Grid Experiment

    ScorePlus: Smart Grid Experiment

Integrated Open Scalable Experiment Environment for Smart Microgrid

ScorePlus is an integrated and scalable experimental environment whose design framework and major components can be extended to build other cyber-physical testing systems in general. ScorePlus includes both software emulator and hardware testbed. The software emulator emulates the communication and energy behavior of Smart Grid entities. The hardware testbed hosts physical devices, such as micro renewable energy generators (solar panel, wind turbine), energy demanders, storages, and topology switches, which are all connected by power network and communication network in a physical environment. Both the software emulator and hardware testbed follow the same architecture and interface, and the same Smart Grid application program can be tested on either of them without any modification.

    Smart Grid Co-Simulator

Windows code with Omnet++ and OpenDSS simulator

...We have resolved a synchronisation problem between already existing communication and power networks simulators. This is done through a software interface between the communication and power networks simulators. We have tested our co-simulation framework with a renewable energy integration application. * This work was partly supported by an Open Collaborative Research (OCR) project from IBM. The authors are thankful to Deva Seetharam, Koushik Das and their team at IBM, for their valuable suggestions and comments.

    Decidix

Software to do feasibility studies of electric power projects

...The focus is on projects of power generation with renewables (wind, small hydro, solar, biomass, and biodiesel), nonrenewable fuels (natural gas, coal, oil, nuclear) and transmission lines and distribution substations. People enjoyed it and I applied regular courses for hundreds of experts from power utilities, oil and gas companies and investors mainly in the renewable energy business field. The tool enable to do from “easy” things like calculating the cost of the energy produced in a power plant up to complex analysis involving trends scenarios and the prioritization of groups of investment projects of different natures.

    HydroTurb

    HydroTurb

Software of water turbine locations in France

We are 5 students from ECE gathered for a project for our fourth year of engineering school: This project named HydroTurb is realized in the context of a PPE, which means Project multidisciplinary by team in French. Why this project If this project is so attractive is that it has a very strong double interest: - At First, the very subject of the project on tidal energy, which is one of the most interesting renewable energy for the future - Second, this project focuses on the potential energy in the French representing the places of possible locations of turbines on the French coast. Description of tidal energy The tidal energy consists of using the force and power obtained from waves and current. ...
