I think this is a great piece of software, and it helped me a lot for learning the 8051. There is extensive documentation, and I've found the simulator very useful for debugging (/learning). That being said: if you're starting from scratch as I was, a good first step is EdSim51, which is easier to use, and the author has written a nice book available on Kindle explaining the 8051. Thanks to Martin Ošmera for creating this and making it available free of charge.

Not usable. Buggy. Pkgs do not load when needed. Documentation weak. Features missing. Standard #pramas not supported. Standard C datatypes not all supported. Cannot use for my project.

best ever tool i have used.it is a complete development tool. it has long future to show the 8051 roots to every student and hobbyists. can make some improvements by adding large set of 8051 variants or providing a addon to create a custom 8051 microcontroller to match the specifications of the user device.
