Beggar is a roguelike game with graphical tiles. The game accepts XML and CSV input files and is written in Java for portability. The hope is to make this rogue robust enough to continually create new and better content. Long live the rogue type genre!

Have to give this at least *** because it works "efficiently" and started easily with jdk-24 on 64bit Xorg. todo: does it still compile? I looked liked an hour for java rpg found mostly junk (only got from A to Be in sf list) and stuff that ran really bad and had to be fixed. Uh oh. Based on apache changlings beans that apache.org has BEEN DELETING and what is there has no build scripts and typical build method produces lotsa errors "apache xml-commons" et al. apparently NOT SOURCED really a binary only as far as i can (they let me) find. i want to give it *** but after finding "simple" xml data -> hunerhack/jdom -> apache2.0 javalibs -> xerces -> junit tests -> grettle grettle -> literally 100 other unsourced .class. * one star is too much. --> i had time: read game data r/w from normal file remove xml <--
