The Wav2MP3 Wizard team has just released the third public beta of it's new version, 3.2. This version named Beta 2, includes the new features and improvements introduced on the first and second public betas (R334 & R338) and provides a much more stable and reliable experience.

The team has been working on this version since last September, fighting through the heavy schedule of school and work to give you this release, so we shall appreciate any feedback and reports on this beta version.

Note that it is fully functional, and we trust that you should not encounter many issues, if at all, using this beta version.

The Wav2MP3 Wizard team has just released the second public beta of it's new version, 3.2. This version includes a bunch of new features and improvements on the way the program works, and shall made the user experience far better.

While using the latest BETA version we came accross some issues that we managed to fix. We're using it as often as we can, and we can tell you that we haven't encountered any other issues, and even those fixed were minor. You can download the latest version in all packages, as well as in a small update for those that already have v3.2 BETA (R334).

What's New in Wav2MP3 Wizard v3.2 BETA2 (R338):

• IMPROVEMENT: First Run Setup Wizard, when run manually (and not on the real first run) shall now load your current settings and show them as defaults
• CORRECTION: Corrected functionality of myProfile, which was incorrect in v3.1 Golden Edition
• CORRECTION: Rewritten update code; the program no longer uses an update window, it only does the check and prompts the user to visit the program's website
• OTHER: Various other undocumented minor additions/improvements/bugfixes

KNOWN ISSUES:

• We've noticed that we forgot to add a message to pop-up when no updates are available. If the program doesn't find any updates, it just exits the checking process without any message. We have fixed this issue and the fix shall be included in the next version.
• myProfile may not seem to save correctly when Bitrate is set to 320kbps, although it does. This minor issue has been fixed and the fix shall be included in the next version.

The Wav2MP3 Wizard team has just released an update of the final 3.1 version, codenamed Golden Edition.

This Golden Edition, based on v3.1, is a fixed release of our original 3.0 and 3.1, with as many bugs as possible fixed and many more new features.

This update corrects a serious issue, a badly written part of code that wouldn't allow the program to resample files.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank the user with the nickname "John" for reporting the problem in our forums.

Note that this version is also available as a global patch for those who have already downloaded R276 or R278.

For all of you who have already downloaded v3.1 and encounter some small issues, I have to inform you that the Known Issues page in the homepage of the project, located at http://wav2mp3lame.sourceforge.net/kissues.html has been updated, containing all the info of the known issues up to now, plus a very small downloadable fix (sized about 100kb) for some of them.

We will try to fix most of them in next releases.... read more

The Second Public Beta for the upcoming v3.1 release is out, having the ID3Tag options in the Main dialog removed, as they were pretty much useless and confusing after the addition of the File dialog (see Help File for more info.)

The Wav2MP3 Wizard team is glad to present you the first public beta of the new version, v3.1.200.

* IMPROVEMENT: Fully automatic batch (multiple files) encoding, not requiring you to click OK between files
* ADDITION: Added the File dialog; by double-clicking on any file on the list you can view all its ID3Tag properties as well as select its destination after encoding
* ADDITION: Ability to change all ID3Tag information in all files in the list with a few clicks, or clear them
* ADDITION: All ID3Tag information is copied from the Main form to the File form (appears when double-clicking on a file in the list)

Well, Christmas indeed may come earlier this year for all of you, as the new version is ahead of schedule and developing is nearing beta. Only some bug fixes and a few issues are to be addressed before the first public beta for version 3.1 comes out.

We have included fully-automated batch mode (that means that you don't have to inform the program between files), fully working save as function, fixed (hopefully) most of the bugs that existed in version 3.0 (which has indeed many of them, and I'd like to apologize, but my holidays made me cut the beta testing short and release the v3.0) and has a better arranged interface, making your work easier.... read more

I know not a lot of activity has been shown around Wav2MP3 Wizard since late June, but I wanted to inform you that Wav2MP3 Wizard is not dead or a work out-of-business. It's alive, me and Juan are working on the new version right now and we are to inform you of the work done the next weeks. In about 3 weeks time we may have the first working betas. Some sneakies I can give you:

• A lot of the bugs are fixed
• The encoding and decoding process for multiple files should be automatic, that is without needing your response between each file

Seeing the latest version of Wav2MP3 Wizard (v3.0) reaching 2000 downloads, makes me a very happy person. Although I have received quite some criticism for the batch encoding techniques it uses, we promise you that the next version that Juan has done a lot of work on and I'm going to co-operate soon, is going to be one of the best ever released.

It seems like I hadn't put ALL the correct instruction in the FAQ. Although extracting the Runtime OCX files into your system folder worked for some, it didn't for some others, keeping them from using Wav2MP3 Wizard.
