hi there, I have a jgenerated movie which always gives the following error: java.lang.NullPointerException at java.lang.System.arraycopy at com.iv.flash.util.FlashBuffer.writeArray at com.iv.flash.api.test.FontDef.write at com.iv.flash.api.FlashObject.generate . . . Now, I understand java a bit, and know what a NullPointerException is, and I can see it is happening whilst trying to parse some text (which comes from a php file in this case). But at what stage exactly is the error being thrown and why might it happen? The very strange thing is, if I restart tomcat (servlet engine), then the movie works fine! I saw in the archives previous mention to supporting non-english encoding (Japanese, Chinese,...). You mention that you support it the same way Generator does. When I talk to people from Macromedia, they say they don't support Chinese. Is this also the case with JGenerator. If not, what are the steps to have it work for Chinese. Thanks. Jeff Bonasso IBM |

We are running an XML replicate command that populates xml information
as test questions in an online quiz. I'd like to number each question
using the {position()} command. However each time I run this I get -1.
Any ideas on what the issue might be?

Quick question. I want to reference a node similar to the internal flash instruction xml.toString(); Where a specific node and all of it's children are turned into a string (the text is html formatted) so that it can be displayed properly in a dynamic text box with my swf. Any ideas on how to achieve this? All of my previous efforts have just returned the content of the node (and it's children node) without any of the formatting tags (i.e. <BR />). Hi!
Anyone, who can tell me how to rotate objects
around the z-axis? It works by doing
rMat[i].setRotateSkew1(1*rot);
rMat[i].setRotateSkew0(-1*rot);
but then the object is scaled too and i don't
understand why!

Hello all, I've just added preliminary support for non-english encodings. It works in the same way as in Macromedia Generator. I would appreciate if all those people who were spaming me :) during last several months to do this, download this new version and check it out in your native non-english environment. And please give me feedback on that even if it works fine :), so that I can continue working in this direction. I'm looking into JGenerator to create dynamic Pie/Bar Generator charts
(mostly Pie).
I've managed to install and run everything properly, but then I noticed the
following
error in the log:
Generator Command 'com.iv.flash.commands.PieChartCommand' not found
Are there plans to support Chart commands anytime soon?

I have installed IIS 5 and Tomcat (to collaborate with IIS for jsp pages) following the official documentation for IIS/Tomcat to cooperate. Then I've installed Jgenerator: all works fine (for Jgenerator) in offline mode and all works fine also for jsp pages, so till this moment it's all right. But now I want to run Jgenerator in online mode but on flshgap.com Installation section covers only Tomcat with Apache or IIS with ServletExec... Can someone help me to configure Jgenerator with IIS/Tomcat? Thanks in advance m&p |
